Personally, I think he already knows where this anger comes from, but as a prince he HAS to be rational even in this kind of stuff, marrying penelope simply bc he likes her isn't rational in his world where is eye for an eye, by weighing the benefits and compatibility he could hide it and ignore it. Pretty sure this is a wake up call- when he thinks he can have and do anything he wants- he can't give or do what penelope wants.

tbh even if they aren't dating, I just hate baseless gossip like that, we all know it might be true that those things happened but the friend itself didn't witness any of it yet was running his mouth then mention how his parents died implying it's his fault? after saying "it seemed like he was the only who beneficiated from people's bad luck"... it did piss me off too.
