i think garam is a very realistic character, and it's clear that he still hasn't recovered from his traumatic past, and as we can see, it's worse than we thought. i mean, his mother wanted to kill herself because her own son is gay. however i also think he's still being way too impulsive when he's facing problems and he still doesn't communicate with jaehyuk after over 100 chapters. it really gets to a point.
i don't mind that garam has a problem with announcing their relationship publicly; it's understandable and it takes some time to get over his traumatic past and the overwhelming emotions he's constantly feeling when jaehyuk is being too affectionate in public. what bothers me the most, is that after all this time, he still hasn't changed and he still keeps everything to himself, even after saying he would do better. garam still keeps everything to himself, and when it's too late, he bursts out, yells at jaehyuk and in the end runs away from his problems.
this isn't about not being able to sympathize with garam and his situation/past. i can speak from experience; i know how harsh homophobia can be and how it will affect your mental health, confidence and life. but if you enter a relationship with a former straight guy who is overly confident and loves to show off everything he's proud of, you kind of have to go with the flow, and either change or leave for good if it's too much to handle.
obviously jaehyuk is not innocent, he's very hard to deal with and blames everyone and everything but himself
at the end of the day i can understand both sides, and i'm really curious about how the author will conclude this conflict.
