ive been suspecting it but i really do think that the reason why tageun's mental has taken a nosedive is because the dungeon marked him. it was a mental type so there's a high chance it's amplifying his trauma when it finally seemed like he was getting better and opening up to eunsung. and i cant prove it but it's kang jaeha's fault
jesse looks gorgeous in riester style clothing + i love christelle's outfit as well + we finally hear sérénité for the first time in the manhwa, the title cedric chose for him so lovingly + the necklace that will one day be referred to as the most beautiful jewelry in the imperial palace found its way to its owner ;-; it's pretty sad that the manhwa is ending soon right when things start picking up pace in the novel
it's really the little things that sets the novel apart from the manhwa. when aurelie tests if jesse's lying in the novel, she immediately gets up and apologizes to him with a sad look on her face because she didn't doubt him but had to check if he knew the secret behind the holy stones anyway (and jesse completely understands and reassures her). frédérique also jokes and says she's like a villain. it's a great bonding moment with jesse's in-laws
also if anyone's confused, the empress refers to sir johann as "tessa" in this chapter which means "imperial instructor" - it's his official title, idk why they didn't translate it.
i feel so sorry for the mc. groomed by a powerful, older man and imprinted on forcefully when he was just a kid. exploited for his position as heir for years, but still so powerless. then, when someone comes along swearing to set him free, he has ulterior motives all along. and the poor mc falls in love, bc why wouldn't he? he's never known true love or had the autonomy to make his own decisions before. the ml is basically his savior and although he was not an outward asshole like the duke, he was manipulating him and stringing him forward for his own benefit all along. and at this point in the story, even after the mc frees himself from the shackles of the alpha that forced himself on him, he's back in the same position he was at the start: powerless & exploited. except this time, he's in love, too. :(
the twsb manhwa is getting axed unfortunately. the last chapter of s2 here will be the last chapter of the manhwa... no idea why and it doesn't seem like they're going to renew it rn.
HOWEVER, i highly encourage to read the novel. the illustrator also put out a statement saying they wish everyone who liked the story continues with the novel because you'll fall in love with it.
the novel is currently being translated on eatapplepies. if anyone wants any spoilers or to figure out which chapter they should start from, reach out to me i'm like kim dokja to twsa when it comes to this novel.

now that i've read all the chapters i think it's safe to say this adaptation won't let the novel readers down. there's so many hints in the panels to future events/characters, so it's clear the manhwa team has actually read the novel if they're foreshadowing stuff from the get go. i assume it's also to pull novel readers in as a reassurance that this adaptation will be mostly faithful.
the art is AMAZING. love how faithful the descriptions are to the novel—even the fact that manager lizard looks like a lizard all of the time because that's how soleum narrates him! i know people were excited to see his face but i think it's more true to the novel this way. soleum's gap moe is properly depicted as well so gold star there.
and that one panel of the disaster management bureau gave me a glimpse of YOU KNOW WHO many years in advance soooo overall im pretty happy with how this is going!!
to new readers: stick with it and let the story pick up pace. it will NOT let you down.
