It’s the face. If you compare season 1 and season 2 then he looks completely different. It doesn’t help that there are other male characters who don’t have the same childlike appearance.

Because it’s super interesting to see a story where the characters are toxic BUT know that they are and are OK with it.

Courtney’s is first and foremost worried about not hurting him. She could definitely take all her rage at her family and wallop Richard could but she chooses not too.
