Fluff starts from Vol 2 C2.5!

Shindou (ML), probably asexual, saved a cyborg boy named Toshio and now they are living together.

!Do! not! read before that if you don’t wanna get depressed and sad.

Story from Erz perspective:

*FULL SPOILERS AHEAD* I literally explain everything

Life 1: Moon Goddess
Suddenly betrayed and killed by Sun God, why? He gave a shit reason: I am irrationally scared you will kill me one day, so I kill you first. Moon Goddess dies promising revenge, cuz she’s the goddess of death and can’t really die.

Life 2: OG Erz/ Moon Goddess Reincarnated
Baby Erz, born with the Moon Goddess’ power (but not full divinity) didn’t have time to grow up or regain her memories. She got spotted by the Sun God, who by then was the main deity of the country/ world. He can’t kill her, she’ll just reincarnate again, so he wanted to make her despair. He declares Erz is the “witch” who will destroy the world. When running away, OG baby Erz meets SeoJoonR, and she experiences the one and only taste of kindness in her life. She becomes (honestly tho) obsessed with him. OG Erz runs away, grows up, gets caught by the king, and executed. She curses the world with her dying breath “you are all monsters”.

Death 2 & Life 3: System Erz + Green Erz
Erz soul meets the Sun God, he persuades her to give up all her emotions and become his “system”, so that SeoJoon1 (pre reincarnation) can be protected from the monsters (ex-people) that will soon enter Earth through dimensional cracks. She still doesn’t have her memories, she doesn’t know that Sun God made the cracks. But, she doesn’t trust him, so she split her soul in half without him knowing. The half that accepts Sun God’s deal loses all emotions, gets enslaved and became the system, and the other half (let’s call her Green Erz) goes to Earth to protect SeoJoon, both before and after reincarnation Sun God tells System Erz all the shit he did to her, but she is unable to feel any anger or thirst for vengeance.

Life 3.5: Green Erz + YeoEunHye
Green Erz watches over SeoJoon1 from afar, but she becomes curious. She changes her appearance and enters SeoJoon1’s university, meets him, falls in love. But she cannot stay long as dimensional cracks are appearing, so she splits her soul again, and removes any memories before university. Now the Moon Goddess/ OG Erz has split her soul in 3: System Erz, Green Erz, and YeoEunHye.

YEH divorces SeoJoon1, gives birth to SeolAh, and dies without realising her identity. SeolAh, daughter of Moon Goddess’ soul, inherits her powers and the label “witch”. Tragedies happen, SeolAh grows up to become the witch and believes SeoJoon1 abandoned her. SeoJoon1 dies. System Erz steps in and does her best to save SeoJoon1, by turning back time.

Green Erz becomes both OG SeolAh and SeolAhR’s master and teaches her magic.

Life 4 (reincarnated):
Where the story begins. SeoJoonR changes the past/ fate (this story does not have multiverse, so what happened previously was fate). He does everything to save his ex-wife YeoEunHyeR and baby SeolAhR. In the process, SeoJoonR meets baby OG Erz and was kind to her. But changing fate messes up the world, and eventually provides enough “causality” for Sun God to manifest on Earth to finally kill all 3 parts of the Moon Goddess’ soul, to overcome his fear of death (literally… this man has no brain cells).

Sun God gets wrecked and dies. Everyone lives happily ever after, with all 3 parts of the Moon Goddess/ Erz soul getting their own happy ending: System Erz as part of the peaceful world, Green Erz with OG SeolAh, and YEHR with SeoJoonR and SeolAhR.

The end.

Seems like after 29YO MC made a wish and walked into the ocean, a higher power/ God heard his plea and decided to grant it, by reversing back to his 19YO self and meet new people, including ML. Unclear if the people already existed or they are new.

But seems like the world is unstable, and the changes MC made are not permanent, hence the “storybook” setting. So the bigger the change, the more unstable the world becomes (like when he saved his grandma). Maybe the power that stabilises the world is “impression”, how much impact MC made on the world/ people. Which is why ‘God’ needed MC to eg make impressions on 200k people to ‘edit’ the world. At the end, MC made too many big changes without having enough “impressions” (400k), which causes the world to fracture and erase MC.

But another way to make “impressions” can be through “favourability”, how much impact MC had on one person. In the new life, MC had good favourability with many people like his teacher. And at the end, ML wrote that in his perspective, MC became so important to him that MC is the protagonist, and vice versa (ML is extremely important to MC). And since both of them wished for the same thing (to be together), when they met they had enough “favourability” to stabilise the world and stop MC’s erasure.

Anyways this is my headcanon to help the story make sense. It’s a shame the ending feels so rushed, the characters were all really cute.
