Kang Jun is a kid cursed with being too smart, at an age where he has little morality to use that intelligence in a better way. He's using his brains to stay on top and not be a victim in a fucked up system, so I can't blame him for being two-faced, it's quite literally a matter of survival.
All the while exactly his age makes him arrogant, too sure of himself and surprisingly impulsive with his feelings.
This was genuinely an interesting read.
Too much rape and abuse going on for my taste, but I loved the characters and I fucking hated that disgusting creep. I still think he should've gotten back exactly what he did to his victims, and I hope he gets it by the inmates he'll (hopefully) share the rest of his life with.
Can someone explain to me why is Seo so hellbent that he "must" die? Not "want", but "must". Like it's his role or duty as survivor to finish the wills and then off himself. Nobody in the revengers wanted him dead, especially if they went as far as giving him these absurdly specific sidequests to ensure he'd actually live and not let himself go.
Like, why "must" he die.
Its because Seo is deeply suicidal. The only thing keeping him alive for the past 10 years has been his sense of responsibility toward the Revengers who died in the dungeon. He sees fulfilling their wills as the last obligation tying him to life. Once that duty is complete, he believes he can finally die “honorably,” without feeling like he wasted the sacrifices his comrades made for him or abandoned them by choosing death too soon.
Yeah, I thought that the issue could also be that death is the only future he imagined for himself, he sees that future as the ultimate relief, so straying would probably cause him even more anxiety. I can relate there, so I can understand the thought process.
But it also feels like he thinks he's not "allowed" to enjoy life. Like he doesn't deserve to live, and he alone has to die. He's scared of taking interest in the coming events, in the future he saw through the watch, because he knows he might lose sight of achieving suicide. When he says it like that it very much feels like a duty, not a will
Spoiler Alert
There was a situation where it was Kangjin had to kill Domin. Seo was hesitant to tell revengers about Domin's secret ability that would basically give him a second life cause he was afraid they would take it. After hesitating he got his mind altered. Since then he had this subconscious guilt because he believes he killed his best friend.
I could go into more detail but it would spoil a lot.
"Act differently than you normally would" isn't a good advice to find an husband. Apart from that, I'm happy I finished reading this after dropping it years ago. Ended up nicely, altho they left the empire to their children too soon in my opinion, even tho I get that not aging will actually elevate them as gods in the eyes of people, lol

This is so good, but as many say there's barely any chemistry between the FL and ML. She likes him because he noticed her pain and he likes her because she "shines". Atp Eurien is just feeling hella guilty more than anything
The manwha doesnt do it justice. For Eckie, Yurien is the person who believed in her when she didn’t believe in herself. He didn’t only notice her pain, but he gave her a chance to try to fight it, and knew she wasn’t lost to the demon sword. He’s a hero to the world, an incredible swordsman. And then she (under the influence of the demon sword) killed him. The one person who believed in her. She turned back time after she gained control of the demon sword specifically so that she could live as a normal person and that Yurien wouldn’t notice that she was the wielder of the demon sword. For Yurien, this is the girl who kept fighting for her soul when it was almost drowning under the malice of the demon sword. Her fighting spirit and tenacity is what draws him to her. She suffered an incredible number of years and still managed to take back control of the demon sword and her own body. AND THEN she went on a search to find all the giosa swords so she could turn back time, and that was through incredible effort.
I adore this novel, they’re so good for each other. He notices that she doesn’t want him to know her past life, and so he pretends that he doesn’t know. I love them (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Yeah, I overly simplified it. I get that it's deep and the gist of how deep it should be, but the manhwa as usual kind of summarizes the events, so it feels a bit washed out
