I literally couldn’t enjoy this chapter because I won’t be able to enjoy any spicy chapter until I’m given firm confirmation that he’s not going to try to have sex with Ken because that’s so gross and icky and I just feel like the author Is going to try to write it in such a way that the audience might be OK with it. like maybe ken consents to something that isn’t fully sex, but is still sexual but he ends up not liking it and they part unlikely friends(?!) but I will never be OK with it. In fact, I will be dropping it immediately. And it’s not like it’s Moral high ground I’ve read placebo I liked it, but It’s the principal and Verckie has always given weird creepy grape energy to me. And one of his arms is a cigarette stub

When I tell you, I need tears with an S, many tears like begging tears like crying, bawling in order to believe this man, Jaekyung, has even a shred of humanity in him like I need this man about to have a nervous breakdown in this chasing arc. Because he has treated Dan SO BAD I cannot forgive him, at this point they might even have to kill him in order to get my forgiveness. He might have to get hit by a bus in order for me to be like OK I think he’s had enough. and I know in BJ Alex the author was able to deliver and excellent rebrand for Alex, and provide fairly reasonable backstory as to why he was an absolute garbage dump of a person but babe, the author really said they were going to do their big one with jinx because I’ve never seen such a toxic violent sassy male lead that wasn’t a complete psycho, a murderer or someone actively participating in organized crime. so you mean this man is just that terrible all while being a normal person who has never killed someone before. like that backstory better move me to tears i’ve read this entire series and not for one second of one chapter have I ever liked the male lead he is truly awful and it hurts because Dan is such a sweetheart. Honestly, I’ve been done with him since he emptied that Coke and Dan’s head that was crazy disrespectful. so when I tell you this chasing arc and backstory better be the rebrand of the century, I’m not joking.

Honestly, extremely unhinged. so now that I finish the whole thing, I have a few notes first of all it would make more sense if the bottom and the top flipped because I don’t know, I’m just not getting the essence of revenge. secondly, this man stayed a Christian to the very end. Truly disappointing. I was hoping, almost expecting him to revert back to his old terrible ways so then, as the reader I could get the satisfaction of hating him again. but alas, the power of Jesus is too strong.

I wish I could do a silent review on this because my current opinions are just facial expressions

I like this plot, my biggest and main problem is that the Storyline is poorly paced and is dragged out FOREVER. literally nothing has happened in the series as yet, they haven’t even spoken nor interacted with the king who I’m guessing is the main villain, this entire 64 chapter manwha is just them and their relationship and backstory, you’d think that means that their relationship is developing in any significant way, NOPE. They’re still at Square one she’s trying to get a divorce for the last 64 chapters. did I also mention there was no plot development either, all this time spent on their relationship and for what, for him to figured it out that he liked her And for her to not even be at the stage where she can admit she likes him, i’m tired of the constant back-and-forth between the two of them, either divorce him or continue on with the fucking storyline and don’t even get me started on the subpar lackluster spicy scenes, If you’re going to have us wait for the plot to develop like dying carcasses on the side of a highway, the least you could do was feed us, I love the taste of fucking nothing. originally I started this with the impression that by the time I got to chapter 64 they have some altercation with the king maybe she finds her husband from her past life and comes to terms with that, maybe Cesar regains his memory from their past lives, maybe they even make up some elaborate plan to kill the king and they live happily ever after or by the very least, seeing any of these storylines or subplots in motion. NOPE. Nothing. we haven’t even met her fucking brother for God sake. these were the few hopes that kept me reading through this very very very long story that seems to be going nowhere but seeing that any conflict resolution is far out of sight, now my question is how long is this story going to take to fucking end? , a plot that has so much to do, so much subplots to explore, so much character development development to be seen, I feel like the author is doing nothing with the story and wasting all of our time, just another example of a good story killed by horrible pacing.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, but I'll just have to say that I don't agree. It's slow, but their relationship is developing at the same time as we get a lot of backstory on Inez and Carcel's earlier lives. The placing is slower than many other stories, but I find that interesting because I get to know the characters much better. They're complex, interesting and funny. Inez is a mature character that doesn't just give in to her growing feelings, but she is torn between them and her original goal. The backstory gives an explanation for that. I love how nuanced and flawed they are and there's a lot happening in their relationship, and most events seem to be of significance to the story. That's why I'm staying.

    But it's not for everyone

there's two different types of stories: plot driven and character driven. this story is mainly character driven, so the plot feels like it's not progressing when it's actually the characters who are. the first season's finale proves this by showing that Ines finally let's go of this survival mode lifestyle and decides to do the things she likes just because she likes them.

Carcel doesn't show a lot of change but that's because he's the side character not exactly actual the main character. Carcel's progression is how much closer he gets with Ines. He learns about her illness and he realises she has some sort of a plan he's not being told. And at the end of the season he gets truly trusted by Ines.

I understand your side because in plot driven stories, often there's a lot of events happening, especially in Isekai with their hunting events, annual balls etc. but it's not the same for character driven stories! that's why this story from what I have seen so far does a lot of internal conflicts than external plot points

I was admittedly a little upset when I wrote this. I just felt like I was a bamboozle, and yes (unfortunately), I’m one of those people coming from TikTok who saw official art or fan art (I don’t know which) of them and their kids and assuming the story was concluding and was more than a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to the plot progression because the premise it so good. When I started reading, and they got into the backstory of her first life I was very ready to see the king suffer and die in any number of horrifying gruesome way. I just live laugh love for horrible people getting their karma. and it’s really triggering me that he is still alive and well like I needed him dead yesterday. I understand where you’re coming from and I do really love Ines I think the author did put a lot of love into that writing her character and she was really able to show (very well) how her trauma caused her to change in each life reevaluate her core identity and really decide what she wanted out of life or at least what she thinks she wants. Because in a lot reincarnation stories the main character would literally get stabbed to death by their lover And there’s no real substantial change to their character. so I really appreciate that The author was able to show how Ines evaluates and reevaluates how she would go about changing her actions to ultimately change her result. But I just really want the king to suffer. Horribly.

That's fine! Like mysticeva explained so eloquently, it's a character driven plot. It's not for everyone and that's ok! Especially since some parts of this story are very tragic and triggering, I get your feeling of frustration. I paused some stories like "How to get my husband on my side" not because I didn't like them, but because I needed to have some type of retribution in sight to be able to read the harder parts. I'll check in with it later. Maybe you should do the same with this one.

i imagine him dying in the most brutal, horrifying, painful, inhumane ways so we are both in on this. i hope he gets served justice because I don't believe he's ever gonna change and continue being this way in this life too.

although now I wonder, if the crown Prince of this life is different, does he truly deserve to suffer? it's an interesting mixed moral plot line but I don't think the author will go for it lol it would get VERY complicated

That’s such a good point! I also don’t think the author will go for it tho Since everybody wants The Crown princes head on a stick for what he did to Ines in her past life. But at the same time, I also want to know how his new fiancé in this current life escaped that kind of treatment that Ines had to endure. is it just that he doesn’t like her or does she have something on him? And at the same time, I feel like he’s not done pursuing Ines so I just can’t wait until he tries and Cárcel (IDK where I got Cesar) gives him what’s coming to him. I mean I know he can’t like best home up or something cause he king but still.

I think that’s what I’ll have to do the longer he’s alive the anger a become while reading, cause it’s like every time we see backstory on her first life it’s just more horrible shit that he’s done. And why would you do that to sweet Ines who did nothing but love you. It’s kind of sad watching her become a shell of who she was to not draw attention to herself and wrap herself in this bubble so she does get hurt in another lifetime. I just wish she could realize sooner that she could just be happy with Cárcel. It’s like she’s denying herself happiness in the pursuit of happiness.

I don't think he's different. He has lived the same life up til now, the only difference is that he doesn't have his "trophy" Inez. He's not happy with his fiancé, so he's pushing up the wedding. I think that the combination of Inez and Cárcel touched his inferiority complex, and that's not happening right now, but he's still the same person, same values. He hasn't committed any crime towards Inez in this life, but who knows what he has done to others.
