Sorry but he isn't and optometrist. He's an ophthalmologist. It is not the same and thats the whole point. He is an actual medicine Dr that after obtaining his General medicine license and being a physician...then studied extra years in a program ( a residency) for a medicine specility in eye diseases, they even perform eye surgery.
I won't explain more as a physician because I already did in previous comments but the gist of it is they should have made him into an optometrist who isn't a Dr if they wanted him to act clueless in a medical emergency with someone bleeding out....Not made him into a Dr and expect people who know what a Dr is and the academic path of medicine to believe this bullshit. I understand many people like you outside the medical field doesn't have the knowledge to understand but its good to research what an Ophalmolohyst is and understand the difference with an optometrist. So again in simple words he is a medicne Dr, he could literally go work at a clinic as a general Dr if he wanted, of course no Dr specialist is gonna work like that with less salary that his specific field and they obviously took that path because they liked one field, but just tto give you an example
