Skypeia arc was a freaking foreshadow of imu all along! Enel was a sign because of his character design then came along Dressrosa arc, Doflamingo was acting like Imu but in a cheap imitation.

The Sun God, Nika, have reborn 3 times and Luffy was his 4th time and the incarnation. My guess is anyone with D in the name are the descendants of the first until third world or void century. They're the first mankind who were enslaved by the gods while Imu was the god who represented land, tree, and water now they represent themselves as sky god because they currently living there.
Maybe that's the reason why they persecuted people who have D in their names. Luffy's grandfather choose to surrender while the rest would rather become pirate. There's a reason why the higher ups want them gone because they could become a vessel for Nika.

A lists of good points about this manga.
1. Mc is a "fujoshi" from previous life but unlike some toxic ones, he doesn't fetishized the homosexual though it's a bit but tolerable. And he is respectful to the boundaries as well. Just because he is in the bl world doesn't mean he have to be a gay.
2. The love interests are within age range, though the school president is okay the dude cares his brother's feelings and treat Akira as younger brother to annoy.
3. I hate the janitor the most, dude is into minors. He should date someone with his age.
4. The author focus on Akira's relationship with others.
5. No sex, focus entirely on development.
6. Was expecting Kaede to be the partner but Natsuhi is great too, considerate and understanding.
7. The school president is funny lol.
Imu used to have fondness on joyboy (in platonic way). Also he might be the last of his kind since he looked different among all the races (and could be a devil with him asking "is there a difference between a god and devil?"). They probably met in the place like skypeia before he become his "first mate", they journey together, meeting everyone around the world until found the devil fruit tree could be in Elbaf or another lost ancient civilization before war starts.
Imu consumed most of the devil fruit inside him before he gained superiority complex that he is able to overpower any powerful races. That is when he and Joyboy clashed together, everyone in their crew him sided with Joyboy while some betrayed him to protect themselves and their people from Imu's wrath. And the reason why Imu was angry at Lili because he thought she was the only one he can call as a "friend" (He called the dragon "traitor").
The One Piece might be the letter from Joyboy left for Imu or the descendants who carried the name of "D".
