Every time we get more details about Cheol's family, we find out some new horrible thing about them. I was rooting for the uncle until I found out he knew the entire time that Cheol was being abused and did nothing about it. I thought that maybe he didn't realize there was abuse until Cheol was outed since this incident was mentioned a few times, but nope. He knew the entire time.
I know he's easily manipulated by his brother because he feels guilty for receiving favoritism. However, that's such crap. His excuses are so flimsy. He doesn't deserve Cheol. In fact, everything the uncle said about love and blood ties seems like a curse now. Because what have blood relatives done for Cheol? Nothing. Not a single person stood up for him. Loving these people cursed Cheol.
Cheol's father also becomes more and more pathetic every chapter. It's so obvious that he sees himself as a victim. He favors his younger son because the younger son is a loser. He sees his younger son as a victim and sees himself in the younger son. It's so funny because the younger son is painfully aware that only his father sees him as worthwhile. Everyone else sees him as the loser he is. He can beat on Cheol all he wants but it doesn't make a difference because everyone else recognizes him as a waste of space.
It's ironic because the father coddled the younger son to spare him the pain of being the inferior brother, but by doing this, he gave his son an inferiority complex. Because the younger brother knows that he will never be able to compete with Cheol in the real world. The favoritism only works in their household.
And don't get me started on Cheol's mom. She is such an enabler. This entire family is so obsessed with reputation that they'll hide the abuse just so they can look good in public. It makes sense why Cheol is so easily manipulated by Minyoung. He's starved for love.

I think the fact that Cheol doesn't want to bottom is part of his internalized homophobia. I think once he's more honest about his identity and his relationship with Minyoung, they will switch. I don't think the author would tease us like this for nothing.

From what it’s explained pretty much just because he came out resembling his brother. And his brother is waaayyyy waayyyyyyy more successful than he ever will be. So he hates him I’m guessing just on that. Cause he had a fucking inferiority complete towards his brother with money and looking at his little boy reminded him of his brother. 1) He wishes the stigmata would go to someone worthy of it. However, to God, he is the only one worthy of it, and to the eyes of the people, the Holy King is worthy of it.
2) He wishes everyone, including Pavel to be happy. (this is a theory—>) But God creates miracles, not reality, so it’s possible he was put into Siennas’s body because it’s the miracle that will lead Sion to be able to make both Pavel and the nation of Zeon happy/at peace
3) The forgotten layer: He wishes for “Sion” to not exist. So “Sion” the body ceases to exist, but the essence of the person continues to exist in “Siennas”
Chapter 29 really showed us Cheol's cute side. He was such a cutie as a teen. But you feel really bad for him. He's very aware of the fact that he's no one's favorite. Even to people like his uncle and Minyoung, he sees himself as replaceable. And the sad thing is that people keep proving him right. Minyoung's betrayal must have been so devastating. And even the uncle didn't really interfere even when he sensed his brother was probably hurting Cheol. I really hope we find out why Minyoung did want he did.

Cheol's uncle had me in the first half, I really thought he was going to be a good guy, but nope. He's as trashy as literally everyone else in that family. A table full of people saw Cheol get attacked and not a single one did anything about it. We know this because Cheol's dad still continues to abuse him in the present day. And Cheol's uncle keeps acting surprised that his brother is still abusing Cheol.
I hate that Cheol loves his uncle so much. I hate that Cheol thinks his uncle is someone he can rely on because he's not. Cheol's uncle is as useless as any other adult in Cheol's life.
