Also what's wrong with the genre switch?? Y'all shouting homophobia are the homophobic ones. Nobody's sexuality was changed. I think the brown haired guy only likes Kyla bc she reminds him of her brother, and gender doesn't seem to be important to Alistair. I'm not even sure if Kyla's brother had any attraction to men at all, it just seemed like he kept getting assaulted by them. You guys just have a fetish for gay men.
Also on a separate note (SPOILER) part of the charm of this story is that they're both kind of fucked up people. Kyla was neglective/ abusive to her brother in her other life and fully murdered the group of boys that bullied her brother with a sword. Say what you want, but in the world we live in, that's pretty bad. She still doesn't deserve everything she's being put through, but at least I feel like they're both majorly flawed. I love this story and I want an update so so bad *cries.
I don’t think the people were shouting at this is homophobic are homophobic themselves I think that’s a copout. I think it’s weird to have a story where a woman enters a BL, and suddenly all the characters are fine with her instead of a man because of how that read has just wait until you find a woman who can fix you. Even if that’s not the case it still feels weird because if it was the opposite way around, where a man enters a GL and suddenly no character is a lesbian I would feel extremely uncomfortable reading. Because stories that attend to do this end up having NO gay characters at ALL which is insane
