He genuinely put himself in this situation, he just wasn't expecting to be the one who had the choice taken from him after HE did everything he did so far to take the real choice away from Dane. Keep in mind Dane is in heat, not in his right mind, and GRAYSON is the one who LOCKED HIM IN THERE WITH NO SUPPRESSANTS. Like genuinely wtf else do you expect. He's only scared cause he's not the one in control, but if Dane was more submissive he would have gone through with it and Dane would have been the victim.

No one said Grayson doesnt have any fault in this messy situation but he also didnt put himself in the situation that deserve to be raped by Dane. The whole fiasco starts because of Dane's plan to kidnap him, he just didnt expect Grayson to take advantage of it and backfire on him. If Dane was raped by Grayson because of that, would you still say Dane put himself in the situation or would you have called Grayson a rapist?

The intentions for the two were different. If we're talking about sexual harassment, coercion, assault and the like Grayson's lock down is on the list along with Dane's assault.
The thing with that is how he didn't lock him up there as revenge or with the terms to treat Dane the way he might have been treated and was treated during the kidnapping. His intention was to coerce Dane into having sex with him. I'm not saying he deserved to be raped because I genuinely don't believe that, but if you're going to imprison someone to coerce them into sex, you should be prepared for things to go wrong in that same way. Even Dane and the rest expected retaliation in the genre of what they planned for Grayson.
Wearing revealing clothes and actively trapping someone to coerce them into having sex with you are not the same. The intention makes the difference, and we both know that if Dane's heat didn't come and lead him to jump Grayson, he would have been coerced into it against his will one way or another.
Grayson is not a rapist from what we know, that's for sure, which is why I don't think he deserved it but coercive rape is still rape. So basically if Dane didn't assault him, he would have assaulted Dane. And honestly I just find the whole thing uncomfortable on both ends. Definitely not where I wanted the story to go. But if I have to choose who to get jumped between the coercer and the coerced, this situation is a little easier to stomach. Not easy; but the author DEADASS presented only two evils to choose from.
Ngl the weird and honestly rude portrayal of poly people is my last straw. I'm dropping this. The main characters and their relationship are quite simple, which is not inherently bad, but it made it hard for me to keep reading just for them. So I was hoping for more side couple content to carry me, but the side couples are: dubious teacher student relationship, the pair with no chemistry, and sexual harraser x sexual harraser. One of these things on their own, I might be able to overlook, but all together they just have me asking "...why am I reading this?" So I've come to the conclusion that it's honestly just not worth my time ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌

It feels like this whole situation with the rabbit is just the author's way of showing their mindset towards poly people. It feels like they're saying "other people can do what they want but it's definitely weird and immoral and poly people themselves are creeps with no boundaries who haven't thought things through enough." Wtaf. First of all, the problem they used to "win" the argument is also a problem for monogamous people because you can never predict people's feelings, people's feelings are fluid, and a good friendship can't be ranked against a romantic relationship. These kinds of issues are why communication is so important in ANY relationship. Also, poly people don't just go around and harass people until they decide to be with them, there has to be mutual agreement, boundaries, and relationship building between everyone however works for them. Naomi has always been white. She was only tanned for the movie with Chase. And *Desire Me If You Can* takes place many years after *Kiss Me If You Can*, so it wouldn't make sense for her to appear tanned.

I really like that the MCs are so different from their parallel selves because then it feels like they're falling for a different person that happens to have traits that they fell for in their first partner and more, rather than it feeling like they're replacing the original with a carbon copy. Cause I cannot imagine any way to write the latter situation with a good end. On the other hand, the first is more of an extra stressful version of when people grieve and love their deceased partner but also find love again.
