Okay hear me out, I dislike ginger over here as much as the next guy and I could potentially appreciate the authors effort in establishing his lore and reasoning HOWEVER I really don’t think it works. I could potentially, theoretically, hypothetically see how and why this would be oh so sad. But his horrible previous performance as boyfriend nr 1 was so horrendous and catastrophic that I really don’t think or could even fathom how anyone could justify or maybe even sympathize with his character.
I think that to make a character actually realistic and multidimensional you have to establish actually realistic characteristics. And I also don’t necessarily believe that every single character that’s evil or morally grey deserves or NEEDS a sad backstory.

That ending was absolute dogshit. It hated the ML throughout the whole story but Ive read some of the authors previous work and liked it…this however was not it. Was genuinely rooting for the other guy and to justify the MC and ML ending up together he becomes some shady asshole??? Cmon that’s so fucking lazy it’s neither entertaining nor interesting. The arts great but like the BS story of the MC left a sour taste in my mouth and the apology was lowkey ass.
