Please does anyone know the name of a yaoi manga that involves a pair of Arabian twins and a Japanese guy that saw a white tiger and called one of the prince name then he was supposed to belong to the prince that he called but the other prince now raped him and then left a necklace on the bed? I forget the rest but I would really appreciate the name please ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
Umm this one ? http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/futari_no_maharaja/ Not too sure since I only read the summary ( ̄∇ ̄")
I don't mean to criticize the writing but I have noticed that most evil people in Korean bl's especially when it comes to SA are usually of darker skin tones and that's truly uncomfortable to read as a dark skinned person. Like why did you have to do that
I’ve noticed
I mean it's Korea, they see fair skin as beauty standard.
But I'm curious can you give some examples where they portray dark skin as evil ..? The only thing comes to mind are the dark skinned mls from BWAT -which are far from being evil (loved BWAT's characters)
Not BL but it is a manwha. “Get Schooled” or True education on Webtoon was canceled right after an episode was published because they straight up used the N Word and portrayed black characters super gross. There are definitely some more notable examples out there but I might not remember at the top of my head :/ it’s just terrible to see.
So you didn't find it weird at all that some crime lord (unrelated to the plot, mind you) comes out of nowhere and for some reason he's the only "black" man we've seen in korea in this comic? I'm asking genuinely.
(I'm not assuming you're saying we don't catch strays just because you haven't seen it. But I wanna know for peace of mind because it feels icky when people make us have to explain and prove why it's uncomfortable to catch strays)
Honestly I've never thought about it, I've read a lot of manwhas/mangas/donghua, I don't go catching on those things when my mind is somewhere else and when I read that comment my mind just blank out, and all I could think about is the dark skinned from BWAT's story since I just recently read their new work. And now that I read the comments it made me think that ah yes they a point, since I remember reading get schooled, and now every time I go to my updated manwhas/mangas/donghua or read new manwhas/mangas/donghua I can't unsee it now (⊙…⊙ )
Yeah, definitely an issue in manhwas and mangas, from what a friend told me they portray light skinned individuals with purity and innocence cuz they look closer to nobility and therefore did not have to work in the sun. While poorer people are regarded with discrimination as they are closer to those in poverty and therefore crime. But these are oooooold lens of discriminatory understandings. Honestly I think some artist, if not a majority, are just prejudice through ignorance. Which in a global world we live in is so lame.
Not all of them, there's many manhwas without it, some people don't represent majority, but I see how those that you have seen would be hurtful for you, so I will recommend one of my favorites bl for you to cheer you up, Captive Prince is a beautiful book trilogy with the most beautiful depiction of love making, and a truly wonderful character development. I especially recommend to look up Polish version of book covers (especially the last one "kings rising") because they are truly the work of art
Either that or we're 'wild/untamed' or some kind of nonhuman (usually demons, dragons, or beasts). It's uncomfortable but I try to persist.
No fr like 50 cent when he was like "what he say fuck me for??"
Welcome to korea
I feel the same. The colorism in manhwa is insane. ╥﹏╥
I never noticed that, there is a dark skinned villain here?
Oh okay, I was kinda hoping that was the case. I can never tell if someone is being asympathetic, genuinely disagrees, or just don't notice because it's not in their foremind
Wdym cancelled? It has more than 200 episodes tho (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Sorry I meant canceled as far as webtoons publishing it goes. It caused a huge uproar cuz of its racial discrimination and webtoon did not like that. So they pulled it from their website I believe around chapter 120-130, so you might find they published elsewhere on other platforms but it’s a bit harder to find English translations due to it.
