Sihyun is afraid if he’s too demanding or too pushy he won’t stay as the bottom’s favorite or even of interest of the bottom. His fear comes from his childhood when his mother was cheated on by his father and she would demand more of her husband to give her and her son more attention and be in their lives more.
but that only brought her more misery and still led to her losing her husband and breakdown. In those chapters Sihyun says “if only she understood her situation and demanded less, she could’ve still had a place in her husband’s life/heart/time…it’s those who demand and show their attachment that get hurt” or something like that…
so now hes too afraid to act selfish in a relationship because that’s what he learned as a child. You just learn to accept it and try to maintain a footing in the life of the person you love by not being too jealous or “controlling” or demanding and you have to be careful not be an emotional baggage by being too pushy by wanting more of the relationship or they will abandon you and you will end up losing them forever.
So now every time he loses his composure, or openly express negative feelings about their situation…he gets super scared he will end up boring the other person out and pushing them away…. + Remember according to his way of thinking, he was only able to become the favorite by not putting too much pressure on the relationship so that proved his way of thinking even more.

It's not just about miscommunication or no communication it's that even if they did he still has issues and nothing will be solved before he can solved whatever is inside his head.
Bc didn't mc already explain most of it already? Ml just doesn't trust him. He still belives that hes only a side piece maybe now he's his fav but who knows how long. He clearly wants more but is afraid to express it openly (it still shows a lot through his behaviour) tso everytime he feels like something point to mc having another partner he gets angry but also doesn't want to show it fully bc he is afraid to lose him. man. I really just want him to understand that there are people that will love you
Also bc of it i don't mind yhe "misunderstanding" bc it's way more yhen that it's about the trauma. Most misunderstanding are truly just lack of information and it's frustrating but now i know why I'm loving this story so much bc you could see it as him needing to deal with his trauma. I do not belive their issues would be solved even if mc said EVERYTHING and lm would belive that what he is saying is true. Bc the true heart of the problem isn't just the miscommunication but his trauma and it's not something you can magically overcome with one convo. He'll need constant assurance that he is safe and can trust his partner before he slowly starts to belive it. It's very hard to unlearn lessons like this that you learned when you were a kid
You added the cherry on the top with your comments (▰˘◡˘▰) also the bottom has his own issues with not expressing his true emotions and has a tendency to put up this front and keep up a wall when dealing with people. He has a roundabout way when expressing things to stay safe. Like he once said “it’s as if I’m making myself always be ready to run away at any moment” he rarely shows his true self and heart which we don’t really know the real why he’s this way… I assume we will know more about the bottom as well as the story continues! I already can see that he'll need to express himself even better so that ml won't be able to misunderstand him and finally belive his feelings.
