Shigure is a consistent character throughout Kazuki-sen's other works.
In Night Before Nights you get more of his story and how he passed away.
Genji's friend that has dark hair and always smokes. His name is Shigure Ichijou. After the timeskip, he's already dead.
You can read more abt him in the prequel "Nights before Night"

Story is decent and realistic however Tomohisa is very selfish. It kinda reminds me of a similar seme from the manga "Life senjou no bokura".
Both Kikuchi and Tomohisa deserve better
