I've read this story a lot. The black hair guy is a S since childhood but he doesn't accept this side of him. The blonde hair guy isn't really a masochist, but he's in love with him so he's ready to accept to be hurt cuz for him it's a proof of love. The S tries to run away from him/himself, but he can't forget nor he can't escape.. To me this story is really good, it's written with a lot of intelligence. Some readers can just see disgusting guys but it's far more interesting, deeper than the classical Sadistic top vs masochist bottom. It's how to live with the burden of a side of yourself that you don't accept, how the boundary between S/M and real feelings is complex.
I think the esper erased the guide from his memories when the guide left him, but the guide calling him "Eve" in the labo was like a trigger signal for the esper to wake up and get back his memories.
So he's pretending now , he clearly knows who the guide is.
