Thats just so people have a way to save what they’re reading, for example in my case i just made a list and am adding everything i read/am reading to it lol

How were they supposed to know..? There's no disclaimer when you go to add to your lists.

I browse this site daily and today is the only day I've seen the claim to not add to your lists. I knew already that the devs were working on restoring the lists, however I do not check the comments daily and I assume most people do not as well. If the devs were wanting to make something clear they should disable lists like they were there for a couple days, or create a banner on the site that warns users about adding to lists.
it's a small team working on it. they can't be everywhere at once. and having that banner up doesn't always work for them while fixing the issue. sometimes putting up blocks to keep people out of something causes more issues. making a site and running a site are different things.
it's really not that fucking deep. both you and the people crying about never getting their lists back need to shut the fuck up and calm down. both of you are so irritating
True, but it's also to be expected that users will continue adding to lists since they have no way of knowing otherwise unless they bother looking at some comment sections which most users likely don't ever look at.
Thankfully I keep track of my list off of this site so I have a backup anyways and I would implore others to do the same because you can not rely on these sites to hold your lists for you. At any moment a site like this can go down and your lists will be gone forever, unfortunately it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.
i want to kiss you right now for being smart and having that back up list. and no it's not being snarky or anything like that. just happy you did that. really really happy. as for not looking at the comment section. i do it every time i log in, made it a habit so i know what's going on, so i knew as soon as i logged on not to touch my lists or add to them. if people made it more of a habit, would be less of a problem. like you made the habit of making the lists outside the site
