I'm also a bit confused, probably because I'm not well educated about this. In ch 181.1 and 181.2, there's a side character? that tells Sun Jing to not wear short skirts in such a crowded place and Qiu Tong gets angry at this and replies with "You tell people to cover up when they meet a pervert. You tell people to not go out when there's rapists" AND THEN she continues and says "Next time if someone's secretly taking pictures in the bathroom, will you tell people to stop going to the bathroom?" I believe this comment is what created backlash towards the author, despite Qiu Tong standing up for Sun Jing, saying that her skirt is not the problem, but perverted people.
Yeahhh… people really make it more complicated than it is when that scene was so real and powerful… I really don’t understand how they got to the conclusion that the author made a joke in that whole scenario ╥﹏╥ its such a serious scene too
I mean people started talking about that "rape joke" in an attempt to justify why the manhua had stopped publishing new chapters and was, in fact, censored. The truth is that it got censored because it showed two women kissing in a romantic way (for example in 19 days when kisses are present they are either censored or talked about as "pranks between friends"), and the "rape joke" is just people reading too much into it to try and understand the whole halting of the series. Although it baffles me, why would they think of that as a "rape joke" and how could they fail to realise that it got censored cuz it's... gay.
