I love this one fr. I love how willing he and his companions are to do whatever it takes. I love that he still have his moral compass but it also dark and willing to do fucked shit. I also live that the girls aren't overly sexual and obviously they like him but it doesn't feel hyper sexual. More like they worship him as their Lord.
Duh, they revere him to the point of eating his shit if commanded. They are just magically artificially created beings that are magically programmed serve whoever wields the Gatcha gifts.
Yeah ngl, while their devotion is pretty nice, it makes it hard to care for them as characters. While I’m only at least 50 chapters in, they still feel more like AI tools rather than living beings, no matter how hard the story tries with giving them unique personalities.
Light’s handwaving of their obsessive devotion to him also doesn’t help, even though I get it’s because he finds it compensating for how much the betrayal hurt him. But it feels kinda empty at times. Like they apparently literally kiss his feet at times? And they are not allowed to voice opinions to him, let alone have any. Any order he gives, they enact without thought. So why I should I care for them beyond what they can do for him? (They have cool designs though).
The story is still a fun and kinda lite karma feast though. I don’t mind not having to sit on the edge of my seat wondering if I’ll be satisfied with the outcome or not. It;s a nice break from the schemey political intrigue stories. But the gacha summons are basically like pets.
More like Tamagotchi pets, where most people don't actually care if they live or die. At least that's how I feel about these gacha summons.
Why are there so many instances of chapters being uploaded and they are just entirely different, unrelated stories??
