To me personally, the first thing that makes a story well written is how developed the characters (especially the main character's thoughts and emotions) and relationships between the main characters and others are. I'll even read a story with a plot that is not really that interesting as long as I have character interactions I'm looking forward to...... reply
I mean I also dislike how 80% of the time ukes all look the same (twinks, lol) and have a big preference for (moderately) manly bottoms, but I don't understand why people are even arguing about this kind of preference? Nope, not at all. I "hear" the sentences in my head but without really hearing any specific voice, if that makes sense? It's the reason when something gets adapted I sometimes find hearing their voices weird, because I never even considered what their voices would sound like lmao.
