I don’t think it’s dragging because it doesn’t have a real plot to begin with and it doesn’t have real conflict either. It’s just a fun story about a high school couple who are very horny for each other (pun intended). They have small relationship problems that are very ordinary for the most part, and the thing I like most about them is that they are properly dating unlike a lot of couples in bl stories. Like, they’re casually tactile, spend time outside of school, TALK (seems obvious but that’s a big one). It’s not this big life or death dramatic teenage love, it’s a very secure and passionate relationship, and I’m just enjoying it as an almost slice of life.
I’m sorry but blaming him for almost getting gang r*ped or throwing a fit when his grandma had an emergency while they were having s*x is not asshole behavior, it’s literally evil. I’ve never been this turned off in my life, he hasn’t shown even a glimpse of humanity, I don’t know what happened to the author during the break…
Yeahh that's why I was confused. He does something seemingly nice, but then he acts out and does something bad again later??
I understand everyone’s frustrations in the comments but tbh sensei has always been pretty bad with developing romance, and I’m saying this as a huge fan of their work haha... No ships in PH ended up being confirmed but those that were strongly hinted at (Ada x Vincent, Oz x Alice...) felt kind of awkward in a romantic sense, so I’m glad that in the end sensei focused more on friendship. But once again, two individually great characters are being thrown together in a relationship with very little chemistry, and this time it’s kind of distracting, so I wish there was more going on between Jeanne and Vanitas, I really want to enjoy this couple┗( T﹏T )┛
That’s because sensei wasn’t writing romance in PH. Ada x Vincent aside (I found their interest in each other heartwarming, yet tragic), Alice and Oz were always meant to be platonic. Same with Gil and Oz. I have a feeling that romance is not the focus of Jeanne and Vanitas’ relationship either (I expect tragedy to strike, so it’s probably going to be more about the individual character development rather than the relationship itself). I could be wrong, though. But I’ve always liked sensei’s characters and their relationships because they’re more diverse and interesting than standard romance is.
I agree with this!! I love PH to death and I've always felt like the "confirmed" romances where more symbolic than anything else. Sensei develops friendships and relationships so beautifully that the fact that they don't kiss is almost irrelevant. I won't say the couples she did end up making canon aren't a bit awkward or don't feel forced, because they kinda do, but also I understand that the story and plot was the focus and adding a gay relationship probably wouldn't have gone so well in Japan. I think Noè and Vanitas are awesome and I ship them, but I don't except them to be a canon couple (unfortunately). That said, the moments between the two can be taken as platonic or romantic, and they are so wonderful that I'll be happy with that. Also, I like Jeanne. I think she's an interesting character and I find her interactions with Vanitas funny, so I don't mind their relationship too much.
Yes! My thoughts exactly. Also, to my knowledge there were no confirmed romances in PH. The duke (red haired guy) had a one sided thing for Sharrons’s grandma, Ada and Vincent were interested in each other but never had the chance to take it further than that, Jack actually hated Lacey, Break like Sharon’s mom I think, but nothing came of it, and Alice and Oz were confirmed by sensei to be strictly platonic (like best friends or siblings). The only ambiguous relationship was Gil x Oz, I’d say. Sort of like Vanitas and Noe.
Ok just gonna throw a shot in the dark and say that seungho’s tragic backstory is that one of the government officials executed by his father was his lover, and that’s why he hates him
Didn’t like it like most people in the comments but why does everyone seem to dislike yugi the most?? Mio is such a creep, he tried to blackmail yugi into sex, took advantage of him when he was emotionally vulnerable even though yugi already said that he wasn’t interested, and then cried after bc “yugi wasn’t into it” during sex O-o
I think it’s pretty obvious it’s not Sebastian?? Or I hope it’s not, because it would be pretty stupid if he didn’t remember this guy when you take into account that he has superhuman demon memory or whatever, and this flashback couldn’t have taken place THAT long ago, judging by clothing and background (even assuming modri was resurrected and the events had taken place many years in the past).
There’s also a possibility the man is not a demon but a contractee who has a deal with a demon.
