Yh so I'm ngl this was an annoying read. TLDR of my essay: Albert and Asha's "love" for eo is uncompelling, the action (the Davis dude trying to kill them plot) of the story is uncompelling and massive power gaps in relationships r annoying (this one is a personal opinion).

First of all, even tho Albert says to himself "oh *I* like Asha and it's not bc of Arden" it clearly is. He (Albert) is originally attracted to Asha bc of Arden's influence and we even see him being compelled to love and obey him by his past self. Then, we're not rlly shown any real reason y Albert (current self) would fall for Asha outside of his past self's influence. Tbh, if it was properly developed it could've been an interesting plot point (current self's autonomy from past self's identity) but atm it's more of a tell don't show situation.

The same goes for Asha loving Albert, which I find even less believable. Asha is clearly attached principally to Arden. The only reason he allows the other Blake family members around him is to use them as replacements for Arden and we also see him thinking that Albert is rlly similar to Arden, which is also the point Asha becomes more affectionate towards Albert. Now obviously, Albert is Arden to an extent, but since the author decided to go down the route of them not finding out Albert is a reincarnation of Arden, it feels like Asha is also just using him as a replacement, albeit a higher quality one. Even in Asha's dialogue w his imagination of Arden's ghost, when he asks if he can love someone else, the answer is yes bc Albert is similar to him (Arden). So despite the claim that Asha loves Albert independently of his past self, it's also a tell don't show situation.

The "tangible" plot itself, i.e. the actual action, is also pretty lackluster. Literally, Albert tries to kill Asha --> Albert doesn't want to kill him anymore bc love (I'd insert the sparkle emoji but I'm scared it'll delete the text after) --> smut --> random evil dude wants revenge --> random evil dude "kills" Asha and Albert --> wow, SHoCkingLy Asha is immune to silver --> random evil dude gets killed --> Albert gets turned into a vampire --> the end. I'm not going to harp on this too much, since the manhwa is short, but it still is so anticlimactic to kill characters only to bring them back immediately and v predictably. Honestly, the time spent on this 4th act drama could've just been used to develop the emotional plot between Albert and Asha instead, which would've been enough for a 15 chapter story.

Lastly, is a personal gripe of mine w big power gaps in relationships and while it's not an objective assessment of the story, I'm still gonna mention it bc I find it rlly annoying. Albert literally has no one left in his life not tied to Asha who would also take his side instead of Asha's. His father isolated him from a young age bc of his obsession w Asha and then in turn, Albert is basically brain washed by his past self to love and obey Asha. Albert is also Asha's servant and is turned into a vampire by Asha (idk if it's the case in this story, but usually vampires can mind control the ones they turn, but either way Asha as a pure blood is stronger than Albert). So, what we've ended up w is isolation from other ppl, couples w a gap in emotional intensity, strength, wealth and a master x servant relationship. Ik relationships can't be 100% equal and idm some elements of inequality but when one character is at such a disadvantage it makes me stop rooting for the relationship.

Nahh idk what it is w this artist's longer works but both this story and dtr give me bad vibes. And by story I mean ash and ain lol. Tho ig this time it's at least the bottom giving bad vibes instead of the top but still smth abt those 2 characters just makes me uncomfortable

    Why lol

    Why lol Seraphe

Umm I mean w ain it should be pretty obvious y *cough cough training a much younger partner to suit his "tastes", pretending to someone else, using said false identity to thus fraudulently gain consent coughing cough*. Though i will say I have not read the novel for either so this is my opinion based on the manhwas only. Either way I can only see this one getting worse.

As for ash from dtr it's a bit more subtle but he is overall v pushy w karlyle's boundaries and also manipulative imo. For instance:
    - doing things lyle was uncomfortable w like public kissing and rlly just pushing for physical intimacy v quickly despite saying he wanted to get to know ppl first

    - that sex scene where he made lyle cry bc he didn't stop when he asked (yes ik it's meant to be an overstimulation thing and yes ik that's not the most egregious thing a seme has done in terms of consent but that's not the point)

    - trying to get away w his slip ups by acting pitiful

    - the barrage of compliments that feel kind of condescending and also love bomb-y right from the start (literally says that even karlyle had a cute side after calling him out before the appointed time on their SECOND proper meeting)

    - introducing lyle to his sister which is VERY leading imo bc would u introduce a fuck buddy ur meant to only meet 8 times to ur sister?? And again, ash only comes to like lyle AFTER their breakup so... ?? ×2

    - pretending he doesn't rmbr the new year's kiss

    - being overall v controlling and using sex to kind of punish lyle (the new apartment debacle)

And this isn't even counting the dumpster fire that the side stories are but I'll stop here lol

Anyone know the title of these two manhwas:

1. I rlly don't rmbr a lot abt this one, but I think it's one of those historical romantasy manhwas where the mc is set up by the real villainess and dies only to regress back in time and get her "revenge". The distinctive things I rmbr abt it is that her family kept ppl locked up in their basement or smth bc they were strong and the mc asked for one of them (the ml) to be hers. She also had two siblings, I don't rmbr if it's a step sibling situation or what, but one was a girl and the other was a boy. The mc and the siblings obviously do not get along and I rmbr the girl sibling had a cotton candy palette, w pink hair and blue eyes I think, the it could be the other way around.

2. Also a historical romantasy manhwa, the mc reincarnates into smth, probably a book as this evil female entity that keeps the ml trapped in this mansion filled w monsters and stuff that gets has to fight. Most of the time she's nice to him but occasionally ig she gets repossessed by the original entity or is forced to be in character. Also, the ml became trapped in the mansion while being on the run from a group of ppl. That's all I rmbr.

Thx in advance!

I'm looking for the title of an isekai manga, I'm not sure id it's yaoi or shonen ai but the mc transmigrated to another world in a chosen one type of situation (?) when he was young. He had this whole grandiose, chunnibyou personality but I don't think his powers had actually manifested. A knight was assigned to look after him. I think the mc had a crush on the knight bc he was the only one that could stand the mc's personality but also thinks the knight betrayed him, I'm pretty sure it was some type of set up (?). Anyway, mc then ends up back in his original world for several years and then transmigrates back again after several years. He ends up working in smth like a herb shop that also delivers to his ex-knight's unit. Thx in advance if anyone knows the title
