The dialog at the end too. It seems like the author had wrote the scene for something else, but someone else took over the work. "hmmm kyon says something here and lucaon replies, what should we write guys? Oh I know, write ARE YOU GOING TO CHAIN ME? yeah that will fit this scene. "

The 2004 would make sense in they said San Francisco though...
In the original it's said San Francisco (also in the anime is mentioned San Francisco and not Los Angeles).
