I don’t think they are in the right, both of them. MC is a bit too naive and pushy, we can’t excuse her just because a she’s a fan girl. She’s interpreting him as tsundere while he’s treating her coldly. She’s also reading him like he’s in the novel, he probably rejected her sweets bc it remind him of his first love. She’s just giving him another reason to face what has depressed him. Of course, first love doesn’t just disappear that quickly.
He is also at the wrong because he’s not communicating well with her. His actions are too lowkey when rejecting her which just makes MC more confused. He’s unintentionally leading her on.
