Just because his father is incompetent doesn't give tristen the right to ruin other's life.. Tristen is selfish and evil. He only thinks about himself in this scenerio.
Although I’d admit that the part of the story where they made our lovely MC face abandonment and discrimination had made me rage. I think it was fair that they teach her that not all royals are going to be laid back and kind. There are times they accuse and ridiculed others based on rumors. If our MC is to become queen, she needs to learn to self-reservation and not act foolishly to foreign ambassadors that might come for blood. Like trying to negotiate with her to gain power. Be strong, MC, I’m rooting for you ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
The story is a whole new spin that I’ve just discovered. Maybe the girl is a demon since she talks about contacts. About the whole death thing too, it’s a warning about their promises. If she is a demon then if the promise breaks, someone will die. Just thinking. I don’t know the truth yet but we’ll see

I don’t think they are in the right, both of them. MC is a bit too naive and pushy, we can’t excuse her just because a she’s a fan girl. She’s interpreting him as tsundere while he’s treating her coldly. She’s also reading him like he’s in the novel, he probably rejected her sweets bc it remind him of his first love. She’s just giving him another reason to face what has depressed him. Of course, first love doesn’t just disappear that quickly.
He is also at the wrong because he’s not communicating well with her. His actions are too lowkey when rejecting her which just makes MC more confused. He’s unintentionally leading her on.
