the more i read, both story and spoilers, the more i dislike this. i actually really like dernic for her so it kind of feels very unfair. it's been heavily eluding to the fact he's probably her first love that she exchanged letters with and that he's mistaking merran's mom when it's actually mc. and sure - just like she said 'just because i liked you once; doesn't mean i have to always like you' but goddamn it feels like if she didn't meet gishin this would have been poppin. anyways~ all that aside; idk how he ended up with merran so that's my only negative on him so far. and sure.....according to spoilers and shit she falls into deep mutual love with gishin and they're soul mates or w/e tf and he let's her live her life and waits for her. great. props. i appreciate you, man. but i still just don't ship it lol. aside from the tragic part of it; i just feel like he's such a sulky, stiff, dense sort of guy that it's really hard to enjoy him being the romantic partner of someone who's complicated but also free and needs you to use your brain and not just be swayed by surface level analysis and emotions. so many times in these few chapters he could have just stopped to think a little about her interactions he'd witnessed and come to a better conclusion than to be pouty.
idk i mean i guess we do sort of get both in the end but from spoilers i've read; i got the impression she didn't really give her heart to dernic and just lived her life so that she could meet gishin again and be together. like watch me hate dernic later, lol. but FOR NOW. i feel damn bad for him
