Hello there, I'm here to share this, as someone who read the novel and thought to share this for non novel readers since there's some alterations that was made in the manhwa. I just think some of you might appreciate this chapter more if you learned some of the changes.
Did you know throughout the time Chase and Josh is talking, in the novel, Pete was actually carried by Josh but he was sleeping?? Here's some of the scenes in the novel
*When Josh said the truth about the dog, the manhwa omitted the detail of Chase saying that Grayson is only “faking” emotions
"I was looking for you..." "You're finding me? Me?"
"Yeah."
When Josh asked in surprise, Chase covered his face with both hands and let out a trembling sigh.
"Since no one showed up and I couldn't find any traces, I was wondering if you really did it with a dog."
"No!"
Josh urgently stopped him.
"You never did it with a dog, Chase."
It was visible to see Chase flinch and freeze. Unable to hide his disappointment, Josh continued.
"Grayson lied."
Chase slowly lowered his hand. The shock was clearly visible on his face. Josh kissed his forehead affectionately.
"He just did it to scare you because you kept refusing..."
"That damn bastard, I'm going to kill him!"
It was just as Chase suddenly shouted and sat up.
Pete, who had been dozing off behind him as if tired, was startled and burst into tears again. Josh hurriedly picked the child up and began to soothe him.
"Watch your mouth, in front of the kid."
At Josh's words, which were a rare instance of a sincere warning, Pete was taken aback.
Chase kept his mouth shut. However, the surging anger was too great to simply suppress. He sprang to his feet and began pacing back and forth in circles.
"He said he did it for your sake." Josh relayed the message, even though he didn't believe it himself. Immediately, Chase stopped walking and glared at him with a terrifying look.
"Grayson doesn't know what emotions are. He's just faking them."
Josh spoke again, watching him shrug his shoulders in anger.

*Josh teased Chase about his face more in the novel!!!
"It's fine." Chase asked, gazing blankly at his son as he closed his eyes again and fell asleep.
"Wasn't he a friend you cherished?"
"He was."
Josh gave a wry smile.
"It looks like he likes your face better now."
". ..."
"Aren't you happy?"
At the unexpected silence, Chase suddenly cast an annoyed look.
"Just like you, right?"
"Me?"
When I asked why, Chase gritted his teeth.
"You only like me because of my face anyway."
Josh flinched. Chase spat it out as if he were holding back his anger.
"You only like my face, so you're exactly the same. Aren't you?"
I barely managed to hold back the urge to ask what was left of him besides his face.
This wasn't the time for jokes.
"You idiot."
"What?"
Chase immediately snapped. Josh gave a wry smile and said,
"That's you, too."
"... ..."
"That's all you have."
Josh joked, emphasizing it once more.

For the first time, he looked nervous. He opened his mouth and took a deep breath, then Josh finally confessed.
"...I love you."
Chase's eyes widened.
"Ah,"
Josh realized. He had never once said these words sincerely until now.
"I love you."
He said it again, as if making a declaration. Why hadn't he known until now how sweet these words were? Just as he thought that, Chase suddenly pulled him into a hug. Their lips met, and their tongues intertwined fiercely. Rough breaths poured into Josh's mouth, and he could instantly feel the pheromones filling his nose. Pure
Just as his consciousness drifted faintly away, Chase pulled his lips away. He blinked as he saw Josh's dazed face staring blankly at him. He recognized this face. Chase let out a short sigh. It was the man he had seen in his dream.
"It really was you,"
Chase whispered in a faintly trembling voice. He tried to kiss him again, but Chase overlooked the fact that there was a child between them.
"Waaah..."
Pete, woken from his deep sleep by being caught in the middle, burst into tears again. Chase panicked and as he hurriedly stepped back, Josh burst out laughing.
"You'll get used to it soon, the fact that you have a child."
Josh kissed Chase, who was looking at Pete with an awkward expression. Lightly biting his lower lip and letting go, he touched his ear and said,
"This is what you left behind back then, too."
Chase's gaze fixed on the spot. Josh continued quietly.
"It wasn't expected, but I'm grateful. Thanks to you, I gained Pete... and it's all the happiness you gave me.”
Tho I do like kmiyc amongst the author's novels (within her omegaverse novels) I won't deny this was a bit dragged and kinda rushed(?) ending imo, I only let it slide since this was literally from 2018 like kml being from 2017. Imo kmiyc could've been a bit better if Chase and Josh's first meeting was also addressed, and I also question why the side stories is called "side story" when it's literally a continuation of the main story. When I mean "just a continuation" I meant it's not even a time skip... Or maybe that's just me, but that's just how I feel since there are other plot points that could've been added other than what we had (Ik there's gonna be a new side story for them)... But again as I said, this was published in 2018, imo it's the characters personality(?) (especially the couple's dynamics) and art is what made many people like this even tho the plot is very simple. Same opinion I have with her ongoing one, Deflower Me, plot wise it's not that 'great' imo, but the characters makes you want to read them, or not it depends, I like Bliss' a lot and I respect Cassian for having balls of steel against THE Ashley Miller lololol
"Joshua should've just said that Pete is their son it's that simple"
That's the thing, it's not that simple, Joshua always considered their relationship was only a fling like his previous relationships until he realized later on that he cared for Chase more than he thought. He's literally struggling to say "I love you" when he had said them casually in the past, this was the first relationship that he was very serious about. He already said previously that it was a bit too late to tell about Pete to Chase, meaning his reluctant about the topic and how would Chase react especially it's been years. I need y'all to remember Chase's personality, yes he quite change now, but Josh's concerns are valid, and it's only this time he's sure that he'll be honest with Chase. Even in the next chaps he's still having a hard time to tell Chase the truth because again, he's scared of how will Chase react. This story happened just in the span of months, not even a year yet mind you.
The "is she your sister too?" is done, now the "Choose me not her" part is next oh Chase haahhahaha
They really really toned down Chase a lot in the manhwa huh I remember him being quite aggressive(??) in that phone number saving scene, not that they changed his character, present manhwa Chase still aligns with novel side story Chase
They changed the cafeteria scene, well not like it's a big change. I'm more concerned about the fact that we're most likely have 4-6 chaps left , I can't let them go yet, I hope they adapt the sides coz it's literally just the continuation of the main story lol
Damn Josh's thighs is hella distracting oh just one chance pls squish me between those hehe
They omitted their scene oh my babies, seems like I'll have to wait a bit more to see you both in this art style TT... this could've been an important scene, I still believe they'll insert it later on because they really can't remove it entirely right???
Ok last reminder from me this is an omegaverse it may be bl but lemme remind u that female alphas exist here for those questioning Chase's thoughts in this chap adiós

I like how some likes/surprised that Josh have some level of unhingedness in him... Now I'm eager to see everyone's reaction when we reach the side story where (SPOILER: KMIYC SIDE & KML SIDE)

Josh bit an alpha's neck, to the point of heavy bleeding, then laughing maniacally after, that alpha deserves it tho don't worry
Also I think we'll also see the thoughts of locking up Chase by Joshua in the sides, also in kml coz I remember a monologue from him there saying "If Chase also lost his memories, he'll just lock him up so that Chase would only know/remember Joshua's face" some like that lolol
A little fun(?) fact for non novel readers, there's a reason why they immediately said that "so Josh gave birth to Pete", not just because he's an omega, but in this verse male omegas cannot get anyone pregnant
Also another fact that was cut is a line about Henry could just break/put another mark on top of Josh's mark (forgot who said lol sry) this is said in kml but lemme say it here, once alphas are marked here they cannot be marked by anyone other than the omega who marked them (edit: and can only be removed once the omega who marked them dies), but omegas can be marked by many alphas and alphas can break another alphas mark
I really should've let this manhwa adaptation end before reading the novel instead of the opposite
The way I just remembered how Joshua was a total Grayson hater here but he accidentally became a cupid/made Dane and Grayson's relationship progress lolol Thanks Josh, I always knew you were the goat, your service will be remembered <3
The way people are starting to get annoyed of Dane's co-workers haha imagine the rage when we reach the part where one of them DID THAT oohhh I look forward to it, it's gonna be fun
I swear I'm telling y'all read this part in the novel!!! (Read the whole novel while ur at it actually lolol) If u enjoyed Josh's entrance here you'll be more captivated by him there! The way he made his appearance in Chase's moment of helplessness argh (Chase situation here in the novel is far different in the manhwa, which made Josh appear before him so so gooood)
The more I reread this chap the more I get a bit sad, yeah I'm happy seeing this illustrated but it never felt the same way when I read the novel :')) Chase's situation here is really different, the way he's trying to fight his kidnappers off and those omegas urgh idk how to explain istg if they did this pace in the next chap too oh no no no, that's literally one of the best scene they better not
I think there's a slight difference here from the novel iirc the kidnappers (at least the one who got bitten) and the omegas trying to get chase into a rut, I think there's 3 o, are different... But here they're the same... I think??
Also why is the manhwa keep cutting off scenes of Chase biting people lmao, first with Duncan's tounge now the kidnappers hand lololol istg they really toned him down a bit here, I always loved whatevers wrong with him hahaha
I can understand manhwa only readers since the fact that chase is inexperienced, josh is his first and only at that, will only be revealed next chap.... But some of u really ignoring some facts/clues already said in the earlier chaps: He hates pheromone parties y'know what happens there, tends to hate being around people, Fear of dogs since he was made to believe he done it with a dog, easily blushes a lot even when just teased and this latest chap he said he wants to ignore the signs since he's scared Josh will leave him if he acts out again... You can deduce a bit that he may have bad experience in anything related to sex with just that... Makes me think if some actually paid attention
Don't get me wrong I find the Chase Dumbmiller jokes funny I really like them lol, but some people really treat him like a absolute fool and only that :v it's more on he's ignorant and chooses to be one when he finds out
