to actually depict grooming, pedophilia, and SA as they should be depicted;
to make it an important part of the story and let the character experience all aspects of coming to terms and moving beyond his victimization;
to have the environment and characters around him responding realistically and supportively, instead of just brushing it off with more sex as is often done in BLs;
to hold it with enough gravity and yet balance it with everything else about this character, not letting it define him but also not ignoring it;
and especially the final few chapters which showed him making friends, growing out of his isolation with the help of his bf, showing us how life moves on, and you can have a happy peaceful life despite all this, it doesn’t define you.

lowk kinda funny when the author was trying to make first couple relevant again IM SORRY but the second couple is THAT GIRL the tension the growth the chemistry hhhhhhhh honestly the main couples storyline was wrapped in the first third of the series all the additional stuff for them was unnecessary but just to keep them in the story, the author REALLY hit their stride with second couple. intrigue. character growth. crime thriller!!!! ugh too good
