You forgot the real ruby turned into a villain. Besides, everyone has different reaction to abuse. This is just Cesare's way. I have no info about the real ruby but the transmigrator had at least a good person by her side until that person (her sister) died. I love how the artist portrayed Matthias emotions so well with so little changes to his facial expressions. I can feel his emotions more than Leila with big reactions. The artist really put the work. The small tilt at the corner of his lips, the tightening in the eye, the intensity and how the artist played with the light. It's so subtle but the impact is so great.
