She was long dead due to the assasination but at the last minute.. casts a preservation magic with strong barrier thus kept her consciousness alive and the evidence too... so due to preservation magic, she was able to hold on until someone else lifted the magic
She is stil cling to her life. But once the preservation magic was lifted that is how she ended her remaining time. Because preservation is supposed to lessen or slows time like a preservation foods that last long
