No, bc mrm works (which are basically hentai yaoi oneshots) have always been part of mangago and have been uploaded here, especially djs, also It seems like the issue is only with hentai mangas, since new pornhwa gets uploaded here all the time and nobody gaf, i agree hentai mangas can be more extreme depending on the work, however they’re still just another form of smut, and more importantly these kinds of works aren’t exclusive to mrm either, bato used to have similar uploads, comix.to dose too; so I don’t really see why we need to try gatekeeping these works, when they can be found in just other sites

My one fear of these stuff getting uploaded here are some people clutching their pearls at how intense some of these doujins are.

Nope! mrm is truly a heaven. The sites you mentioned have small fraction of what’s there on mrm, just because it’s only a small part of what people can find there and can handle it themselves doesn’t mean we should upload it here and risk bringing that crowd over to mrm and disturb the peace it has especially with people from this site.
I seriously have a problem with people who knowingly open a manga, knowing exactly what they’re going to get and still end up talking shit about it and unfortunately this site has plenty of people like that

Might be oot but I'm afraid what's happening in ao3 due to wattpad migration will happen to mrm.

Even if there's tags present in all stories uploaded in mrm, I don't trust people enough esp. ones from here to quietly disengage and not complain if the story is too heavy for them.

And ngl, the mods their are relatively active compared to here. If complaints are made, they might make unnecessary changes to their system.

Sorry my comment wasn’t meant to be that deep honestly. But since we already dove that deep: the mangago community is in NO WAY that mature like readers on MRM. People here complain about everything, they can barely handle heavier or dirtier kinks.

Some even complain about the lack of plot and development when it’s obviously just about sex which honestly puzzles me so much haha

I also didn’t mean to gate keep, otherwise I wouldn’t be name dropping the site as well. Enjoy what you wanna enjoy! But fact is, mangago is REALLY not ready for the depths of mrm. Most mangago readers are also quite young, I’m lurking around the comments quite often and I’m always amazed at the lack of reading comprehension, even if it’s literally just hentai lmao

It’s also better to have communities divided, some of the former commenters on here have given you a great example (the wattpad migration on ao3). It’s simply false to believe that everyone has the same kind of tolerance. Even if it’s the same genre, the community differs quite a lot.

We really are living in the trenches in this timeline It sucks that we are slowly losing ao3 bec. of people who obstinately refuse to use the tags for its original function or learn basic fanfic reader etiquette. Kinda fear for the future of the site bec. I heard some people are calling to have it banned. I just wish ao3 can weather this storm and survive

Eh, ao3 was created exactly for the purpose of hosting things other places wouldn't at the time (ff.net, livejournal, etc). That's the reason the OTW (organisation for transformative works) exists. Ao3 isn't just a random website you can post your writings to, it's backed by an official organisation, not to mention all the fundraising means it has a pretty sturdy legal team backing it, or at least that's how I've always understood it.
This all to say, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I get it though, I was there during when ff.net went to shit and through the livejournal purges, having nowhere "safe" fucking sucks.

Related to the topic at hand: I've only been around for a year or so since the sites I used to use disappeared, and the community definitely skews young, judgemental and immature.

I wouldn’t worry about ao3 the platform as well but the community, a lot of writers don’t feel safe on ao3 anymore and either private or delete their work. I’ve been on there for over a decade now and the wattpad migration is definitely noticeable ..

And I agree with you, it’s hard here on this page. Kinda miss the time when the comments were deactivated for quite a while haha
