Wowiee I finally reread this and I totally felt how much the BL Genre shifted over the years. This has been ongoing for sooo long, ever since I was still a student and now I’m older than Tomoharu wtf
Anw this isn’t perfect by far but it’s SUCH a delight to read this especially if you’ve known this since the beginning. Tomoharu is such a great character too haha he’s so attractive to me and his duality is so moe aki has been a little demon since forever but I can actually see a bit of change in his character as well. He has gotten a lot more sweeter imo.
The smut is more in focus now which I don’t mind honestly, I’m happy to see yamamoto sensei improve too, their art has been quite consistent. Japanese manga always improve in artstyle while webtoons just turn rushed haha I mean we have 44 chapters in what? Almost 20 years while most webtoons reach 50+ chapters in 1-2 years.

Manny and Sean are both utterly traumatized and literally have nothing left. Sean is blindly loyal to Angela, who might have saved him from his abusive adoptive father but just really introduced him into a new hell. She really made him into this cold hearted killer that manny is so against of and he isn’t even surprised when manny told him that Angela betrayed him.
And manny is haunted by the ghosts of his loved ones which died at the struggle of his own hands, he’s desperate for salvation and someone to understand him but even the angel who he is so obsessed in is someone who would poison him with an apple. And Sean sadly is just someone who manny can’t find safety in, safety which he needs so badly.
Sean really really tries though imo, He wants to be there for manny and he’s desperate for him as well. But manny is blinded, he keeps defending the people who wronged him, be it that bastard rapist priest or Donovan who literally shot him. Sean is fucking TIRED. He’s rational, a loyal dog and just cannot deal with emotions, decisions clouded by a heart like manny’s. His need for revenge apparently is deeper than the affection he has for manny (which imo will change or just hasn’t had the change to be tested haha) which is why he is (acting like he is) pushing manny away when manny was desperate for him (when Sean asked him If he were able to kill Gabriella and manny didn’t answer.) He knows manny is lost and confused right now and just can’t handle him
