I don’t think drunk would be the best comparison to heat/rut when it comes to omegaverse. From what I’ve seen the heat/rut omega’s and alphas go through are uncontrollable most of the time with the exception of authors making the alpha ML magically the most powerful and calm. But if you see a ton of omega mc in heat, you see how they really can’t control their words or body.
So comparing it to be drunk is a bit too light, since getting drunk is often times something someone CHOSE to do and let themself get to that point. A better comparison would be that a normal person is DRUGGED or under the effects of an aphrodisiac. Which is the same as not being able to control your body, against your will = same as omegaverse heat/rut. - Anyways I think that’s just me clarifying what heats/rugs should be thought of. Thank you! I just posted about this in a long ass rant. I was looking for this exact comment. People are reading omegaverse, a universe which sets up dubious consent on both sides. Yet they act like the heat should have no repercussions of consent on the alpha’s side. So far, the alpha is not set up as a sadist. He is an asshole not because of the rape, but because of the blackmail when he meets her again. What happened to them was tragic. On both sides! Like this universe sets it up that you can rape someone against your will. That’s freaking terrifying.
