Ok so it's seems that there are many religious people in here,
Do you feel like going against God for reading Yaoi ? Please take it lightly.
God clearly said Man and a Woman, FUJOSHI/FUDANASHI's God says that you can also date a cat if you like him, lol.

I honestly don't care, cause I follow 3000303 religions and I don't really mind. I think about Yaoi 24/7; I pray to Yaoi God for a new Upadate every day. And I can't read straight people mangas anymore, cause I find some girls boring. ( I Repeat please, take it Lightly )

What about you?

I don't follow any religions either , i am Fudanshi also can't stand most straight manga either , personal feelings a side , love is free for all doesn't know gender or religion or race , simply happens either the person accepts who he/she is or live in ignorance and denial never happy or satisfied then . simple fact & simple truth .

It´s absolutelly up to you what you want to believe in. If you like having something bigger outside watching over you, nice. You believe in karma/reincarnation/fate? NICE. U dont give a shit about spirits? Great. Technically everyone is bunch of atoms pushed and pulled by electricity, so why working yourself up about whether something is sin or not? You are alive now so enjoy what feels good, tomorrow fking moon can explode and kill us all so what is there to fear (yeah exageratted, calm down nasa) :D

I'm agnostic. Because I hate the way religion is used by greedy people to justify their disgusting actions.

    Islander April 8, 2017 6:30 pm

I personally consider myself religious and at first, I felt really guilty about reading it. But alas, as you have said, straight manga is just too boring now. I used to read Shoujo 24/7 with a good Josie every now and then. But damn. Now yaoi has taken Shoujo's place (ITS JUST SOOOO BOOOOORING NOW).
As stated before, I used to feel really guilty but, I actually don't know what my religion says about homosexuality (Islam). I only know what other people have told me. However, you can't always trust other people's interpretations of stuff, so I wish to read for myself before I trust anyone else's homophobic interpretations.
Now the only times I feel guilty is if the story is truely smutty and explicit (because these differ from stories about actual 'Love' and are just about 'Lust')
    Anyways, that's how I feel ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

    →Doldrums April 8, 2017 6:32 pm

I'm agnostic. But my mom's Buddhist, so I practice it a little. Reading yaoi has never really been a problem for me in terms of my beliefs, but I've known people who are Christian who are ok with it. Idk if God "clearly" said "man and woman only" because people seem to have a variety of different interpretations.

Oh my God. We're so alike! Basically, yeah. I was soooo into shoujos before but I got over it. Yaoi is just pure bliss! From light and cute romance to angsty messed up love. The variety is amazing! Technically my family also follows Islam. But I don't really know about myself.

Being religious doesnt matter imo. If you know your limitations with the genre, then thats fine to like yaoi. And limitations as in you know how to define whats right and wrong, whats fictional and whats not. Something like that.

    My Answer April 8, 2017 7:47 pm

Won't go into details about my religious beliefs, but I will say that I don't view reading BL as a sin. If it's a sin then reading about straight couples having premarital sex is "sinful" too. I don't think same sex relationships are sinful but if someone considers them a sin and uses that as the justification for not reading BL, then they shouldn't be reading or watching anything with murder, stealing, or anything else that breaks the Ten Commandments.

Thank you guys for the reply ! It's really nice to see people replied to my questions.
I asked this , cause I'm from Italy and went to a catholic school, but I'm not a catholic, now I'm in a different school. I believe in something that's above us. Since everybody in my class know I read yaoi, they asked me " aren't you Christian ? ", " Do you know what the Bible said ?" And I was quite shocked .. so thinking about it, you replies made me realize yaoi and religion are two different things.
Let's just read Yaoi in peace !

I am catholic and go to the church every week but I read Yaoi because it's fiction. And I think it is better to read yaoi than go and watch porn on internet.
And Christianity is not against homosexual, they have a place in society but Christianity just do not want this model to be the majority because they can not have kids.

Sorry I am not english hard to explain :)

Any suggestion about any mangas with foreginers ??

Momo July 24, 2016 11:02 pm

So Mangago community of fujoshi and fudanashi community is one of the best ever! ( I've been here for ages ) People share their thoughts and so on (since the site is well build). But apart from that does anyone talk about yaoi or shounen ai in public ?? I do.. At First my friends where shocked but they later on understood that there was nothing they could do and went along whit it! And thank god I have my fujoshi sister !! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

No, it's kinda hard for my personality to talk about yaoi because it's still reading illustrations with sex scenes. Maybe once I get a little more courage in the future, I might be able to talk about it with my friend who also reads manga.

At the beginning I was also embarrassed about it.. Since they would always think about it as an hentai.... And yes, I hate hentai they don't simply have a plot .. Watching yaoi for me is just like watching a shojo with all included . ( the only problem is that i do not find it normal to read boysxgirls anymore because of the mentality yaoi gives so whenever I start reading a manga I will always check the romance line, unless for manhwa).
I'm sure that if you find other people like you, you wil get the courage!!

    Yumi July 25, 2016 12:16 am

At first, It was also hard for me to talk about yaoi, I mean sex is not a common thing in our society so it's quite hard to talk about it even if yaoi is much more than just sex.. But one day, I told myself that this is who I am, so I don't care whether they'll find it disgusting or even be shocked. If a real friend don't acknowledge this aspect of my personality, then it just means that our friendship wasn't that strong ! But well, it turned out quite well, even if she isn't into it xD Yaoi, I mean.

    minty July 25, 2016 1:18 am

This might seem an impossible request but, I just wanted to ask all of you how you started reading Yaoi and what were your first reactions..

I for example was shocked the first time I read one,I started with shrunken ai and passed to Yaoi and now I can't live without.. I'm like totally addicted ..

    nickname February 17, 2016 6:19 pm

    my first was
    junjou romantica (Anime)
then, move forward to Okane Ga Nai & Rutta to Kodama (Manga)
...Ja Nai Kedo series (Drama CD)
    white day kiss (Yaoi song)

socked indeed, but I can't get that out from my head.
    Yaoi is life. fufufufu

' pretty sure that the first time I came across BL themes was in Ouran HS Host Club (lol) which then developed into Sekai Hatsukoi eventually. Though 3 years of reading yaoi is really hard to track, so who knows what really happened xD

i was looking for some manga with a good review that time when i stumbled upon http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/sojou_no_koi_wa_nido_haneru/
that was my very first yaoi. It was a little heavy for my first so i did not read any yaoi after that for a while. But boredom killed me so i decided to read something exciting and found my yashiroxdoumeki in saezuru. from then on, i can't live without yaoi.

    WicRed February 17, 2016 6:39 pm

hmmm. i think it was konbini-kun. i wasn't shocked at all. i don't know, i think i've always thought that these things have always been around. i felt pretty weird when i told some people about it and they didn't have positive responses

    Ju-on February 17, 2016 7:01 pm

My first yaoi was Boys Next Door from Kaori Yuki. I was addicted to her works that were being translated by Sakura-Crisis, so that and Kaine (which is shounen-aish) were my first. I thought it was very mind opening, because it was a great police story and also a very different romance and I had never read a manga like that. I don't think it is as good nowadays, but I keep it in mind.

Then, next came in Midare Someinishi and all Prince of Tennis djs I could get my hands in. It escalated pretty quickly from there ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ I was probably the first between my friends to fully embrace the fujoshi persona.

    Mia February 17, 2016 7:06 pm

Well, my first contact with yaoi was by watching Junjou Romantica, the anime. My reaction....surrpised, I was like ''huh, this is a thing in Japan? Yaoi?'' then I was just like ''This is fuckin' awesome!!!!'' I don't remember what yaoi I first read...either it was Junjou Romantica or Viewfinder....no shounen ai for me, I went straight for the sex scenes, LOL. And I haven't looked back since, eight years and counting. :)

    mrl98 February 17, 2016 7:20 pm

I watched yaoi anime before reading it was called Level C, it was my portal to yaoi ( was recommended by some anime channel list, it was some girl's favourite )

I came across yaoi accidently and I can't remember what my first yaoi many a was (basically a typical shoujo fan)

    エンプレス February 17, 2016 8:32 pm

Well i always was addicted to anime. actually it all started because of my mom, she always liked to see cartoons and gave me the education to sit in front of the tv to watch it too and I liked it a lot, I had a bag with Pikachu form (Pokemon was my first favorite anime). Years and years later my life was completely full with anime but I didn't liked mangas because I liked to see the action, and one day when I was in Facebook in one of the anime pages that I follow (Anime Tenshi) I saw a picture full with good looking guys that I haven't ever seen and then I though (yay new amines "shoujo or ecchi" for me to watch) I decided to search for them in order of beauty and the first that I choose for my luck, was "Usami Akihiko"...yup! At first I felt a little bit reluctant because it was a manga (I didn't liked manga) but then I read the plot and saw that it was a weird story and that was enough to pick up my interest because I am weird. the first scene that surprised me (a bit but not enough to make give up on the story) was when Usami kissed Misaki and then I thought "wow a guy kissing another guy... interesting ( in a pervert way)(⌒-⌒; )" and then my life as a fujoshi had started and here I am craving for more and more!!!

Let's feel old together. I'm a fan from early 2000s. Actually, I just downloaded Sakura-crisis version of my first yaoi again, and saw the release was from 2003 (≧∀≦) So... I've been reading yaoi for what... 13 years?

I felt bad when I read boys next door because the story itself is a bit depressing. But midare someinishi... I just didn't like it, it made me feel sick. I thought it was really abnormal for the story to be that sad and couldn't find romance in it, like, nowhere. That's why, up to this date, I always recommend fluff to people who want to get into yaoi and probably why I can't forgive unnecessary rape trope (or it's a personal thing, dunno).

Either way, of course some things are pretty shocking for a newcomer. I'd never hand a Harada manga to a girl who has barely read a horror story, even more a gay horror story. But in the end, I think we're all in for the love. (and smex) (●'◡'●)

    Hey there!!! February 17, 2016 8:51 pm

My first was junjou romantica (anime) and I was like " what the hell can they have sex?" That was my first reaction and my endless long journey of yaoi started.

    Uhm February 17, 2016 8:59 pm

I saw sekai hatsukoi and then watched all the yaoi anime I could find on the interwebs. I loved it, so I moved to manga. I love all kinds from fluffy to f*cked up stuff. I had always watched anime and read manga casually, but I read so much yaoi after I discovered its amazingness. I legit own two gay finches because they are preciouprecious birdies.

    midnight_tea February 18, 2016 4:05 am

Actually the first time i read yaoi is from fanfiction..i was searching for my bias ( i am a kpop fan) picture and stumbled upon a fanfiction site and found the story of my bias having sex (both are guys). At first i don't understand things like fingering, entrance (butt entrance), and penetration..i totally had no idea because i never read or watched porn before (even hetero porn) eventhough at that time i was 18 yo..but i was so curious so i keep reading the fanfic and finally understood it was gay sex. At first i was scared ( i was even scared of hetero sex because i have no idea about the process of having sex, so reading it was kinda foreign to me) but then i got addicted and then i stumbled upon to yaoi stories in this site and myreadingmanga..And now i fall even more into the depth of yaoi world, i wonder if i can escape..i think i will never be able to escape..Yaoi is too addictive..sorry if this reply is too long~ (●'◡'●)ノ

I'm so happy all of you shared your experience I've been a fujsihi. For over 6-7 years now and the first time I saw one was when my sister was reading , I basically had to doublechek if what my eyes saw was true.. I was really shocked and asked myself how could my sister read such things.. I was not interested in manga at all there was for example the continuation of peach girl and I refused to tread it because it was manga, but then I started too.. And I became as I am now, addicted to them.. And when I'm in class I start showing my fujoshi- self pairing boys with boys.. I even know that in my school there are a lot of fujoshi me and I'm really happy about it!
