My Beloved Oppressor is one of my favorite manhwa, and this one scratches the itch of wanting to read more stories like MBO. I know a lot of readers hate the ML for being "prideful," "toxic," and whatever other things ppl call him, but this is what makes this manhwa great.We see him already broken in their first life atp, he is not really capable at all of having a healthy relationship or a healthy love.

And if we met him in the second life we see him before he is broken bc of war, and before he loses his family. The ML shone bright during those times. Bc the FL changes the fate of his sister, it also changes the fate of his brother and his mother. Bc of these small changes, even though the war broke him, this time he wasn't completely broken beyond repair and he also has the FL , so he has all the support system to help him with his trauma bc of war. Yes, the ML was so frustrating cause of the lack of communication, self-loathing, and self-pity, but we need to understand that for a perfectly healthy man to become limp, get a huge burn scar on his face, and face the trauma of war is not really easy to overcome.

It's not the FL's responsibility to take care of him, but the healthy and more understanding approach of the FL in the second life helps him. It's normal to hate the ML, but I just think both of these characters deserve love and understanding. Maybe I just kind of understand the ML I have low self esteem and it's easy to overthink about things but instead of listening to those voices in his head ML still tried to be rational when it comes to the FL. The prison part I know some just can't comprehend why would ML act like the FL betrayed him but in my understanding he felt responsible for the FL going to prison since it was his sister's fault and also he doesn't want FL to even stay in prison but the fact that she's too nice to really lie about the whole thing and would rather go to prison prob makes the ML miserable about the whole thing, and maybe he kinds of hated the FL for her decisions.

Also, I see ppl hating on the FL for being naive but FL was a noble woman who is sheltered with little to no rights to really do anything with her life and she's a brave woman for overcoming her fear and uncertainty to do things on her own, it's not easy to leave your comfort zone but she did and she did not just help herself but also help everyone around her especially the ML.

Just like My Beloved Oppressor, I don't recommend this manhwa to anyone who can't read the nuances of the story.

PS. You might not agree with me but this is just my personal take about this manhwa. I am yapping, so my thoughts are incomprehensible.

If u dropped this after reading first few chapters, then I highly recommend to give it a chance again. I am just so in love with this and other than the story the art is also good I love how the artists drew them with a proper proportion.

I can't get enough of this manhwa that I feel so empty after completing it. I need more side stories especially for Benjamin my god my man deserves love too I can't imagine what will happen to him once Anna dies esp she's getting older, just thinking about it makes me so heartbroken for Benjamin.

I love this Author so much their stories shows how matured healthy relationship should be, they communicate, they understand each other, no unnecessary drama. I've been reading less BL cause with how they glorify rape, victim will always end up with their rapist.

I'm so tired of evil girlies, evil sister, white lotus OG FL, evil saintess it's always like that to almost every manhwa and I'm just so tired of it I totally appreciate girlies taking care of another girlies. I know a girl's jealousy is so dangerous but for goodness sake they are kids why villainize them

It was the same thing they are kids who bully the FL cause they are jealous I enjoyed the fluff but I hate when Author will try to isolate the FL and make sure she only has the ML or the 2nd ML so I was hoping she'll find a nice girlfriends later

Reading the comments here is such a disappointment. Seriously ‘let’s normalize rape because it’s fiction anyway’? Their dynamic was really good, and I wouldn’t even mind if they hooked up later, I could wait. But this? Drugged and raped Uno? Absolute BS.

And don’t give me the excuse of ‘Enzo’s a mafia, he’s a bad guy, don’t expect him to be good.’ There are plenty of mafia-themed stories that still deliver a solid plot without resorting to rape. This is fiction the author doesn’t have to follow some ‘rules of the world.’ If anything, they have the power to not add this kind of garbage. But I guess that’s too much to ask from Korean authors

And for those saying ‘it’s just fiction,’ that’s exactly why the author could’ve chosen to write something better. Instead, we get this mess. Honestly, rape being normalized in BL is the reason I barely read it anymore.

PS. I didn't expect them to fuck this chapter I really thought the last part of chapter 18 is just Enzo teasing Rian and Rian would passed out from shock and Rian would be like 'this is boring can't fuck someone unconscious' and he'll just lay down with Rian and ended up just purely sleeping with him.

I'M MELTING I can't wait anymore for the slow updates if anyone has a link for the completed novel I'd appreciate it right now I have the lily on the valley translation unfortunately only few chapters are currently unlock

Made me exit the manhwa and see the tags if there's one cuz why they keep addressing the delinquent guy SHE and Girl

Those early days everyone is just trashing on the ML but right now most readers can see and appreciate him
