It feels like he is 16+ while she is ~10-14. Still makes a bit icky to see romantic pairings of children like that
She's just 10.
Even orphans have mother/father figures and siblings. Just because you're an orphan living with other orphans doesn’t mean you can’t become family.
He is a big brother slash guardian figure. He raises her along with his little brother. If we want to be generous, after the time skip, they'd be 15 and 20. But let's he real he looks fucking 25. I would be disgusted if he takes care of a child (he himself keeps saying she's just a kid) for 6 years alongside his little brother, only to lust after her once she hits 15.
This!!! Thats y my first question is, is he a teen??? Like 15 or 16?? Coz honestly, sometimes the authors themselves makes the character looks older than their actual age.
Shes 10 when it starts but with the unclear timeskip and her referring to herself as an adult while he’s talking about how she hasn’t had her coming of age’s ceremony yet, she might be 16-18 now.
That wasn’t the point I was making. I was simply pointing out that the plan isn’t icky in the way it would be if he was a grown man raising a kid. He hasn’t even looked at her with lustful eyes while she keeps blushing over him. It’s clearly going to be slow growing. I guess I just don’t have a problem with the direction specifically because they were all kids.

But if they are all orphans together, it's kind of a family dynamic. And thinking of someone in a romantic way who is like your father/brother/guardian is icky.
But these kinds of authors just live age gaps. I wouldn't be so icked out if it was clear that he was a 1-2 years older than her. But when they met man looked like he's been through puberty, and she looked like she coulve wet the bed.
Honestly, for me. Huge age gap is acceptable as long as they only met when they're both adults. Like when the younger between then is like 20 or something when they met. I honestly dont care if they got like 10years age gap. Its less weird for me. Still ick. But less weird. But my red flag is when one of them were still a child and they grew up together. Like hello???? ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ

They both looked like kids to me so that might be where there’s a dissonance. He didn’t feel like he was older than 15-16 when he first showed up. I do get the whole perspective with them growing up together though, so at this point it’s really about what you can stomach. I never got the sense that they thought of each other as siblings; he looked after her and now that she’s grown, in her own way, she looks after him (although in a fk’d up way after ingesting those flowers). I never et got the sense that he “raised her” as it would normally be the case in situations where a grown up takes in a child.
Maybe because he's jacked as hell, and told to take his place as next cheiftan that I am thinking he is 17+. He is also looking after younger kids.
Regardless, I think they could've either aged her up, or made him look and be younger, for it not to be as gross
Could also be that I’m used to boys with his character design being 15 year olds lol
