No it’s racism plain and simple. A lot of authors do this to black people. They make their skins grey because it’s “harder” to draw black people skin tones
Like I’ve at least seen some authors put some brown in the grey but this is just straight up grey. Also not even just black people even other tanner Korean characters are made grey.
