Fr fr college student trop would be so much better. But ig it hits different with a high schooler that is barely an adult and has alr completely given up. It really shows how in a way fragile he is, he will lean on anyone that will show any kind of warmth/intrest, and is confused abt life (cause who wasn’t at that age). But yea it could have been done much better with a MC that would be older. Cause atp it’s pretty much a predator story.
Him being a high schooler does add a charm to the story by he making us feel protective since he's so young, but then they could've made our dear serial killer younger instead
