Based on the comments I read on Naver, do y'all remember the chapter that showed the mom’s past for a bit ? Apparently, she was famous and beautiful back in the day, which became the biggest factor in Hae-joo’s childhood trauma.
Her mom used to have an obsessed stalker who kidnapped toddler Hae-joo and hurt her. Because of the severity of the situation, Hae-joo developed trauma and, I think, lost her memory. Now, whenever she sees her mom, she’s reminded of that day and feels scared. I guess that’s why her mom chose to stay out of her life and only watch from afar to avoid triggering her. We just gotta wait for the translations to be sure!
