i, for once, like that the MC kept her charade so far : this way, all what truly matters is how she acts and what she does. She managed to gain acceptance from an enemy country from lots of small deeds, whith wisdom and kindness - not because shé’s a ro « royal » or a policial tool. I find this to be rather refresshing in fact./
After that, the more it gos into the miracle / saint thing, the more it grows righteous maris sue vibes. Frankly, i liked it better when her gifts where modest, like knowledge , and she has to use her own wit to come up with a solution. Her becoming a surgeon othernight is not my cup of tea… but i can live with it to see the end ?
you can find them on the wild wild web
For exemple, here https://utoon.net/manga/top-star-from-age-zero/
So, i truly hesitated reading another one of these cheat code story (hate them), but being sleepless, i thought i would probably get super bored by… and sleep soon.
I didn’t.
I get that the first few chapter are awkward and might give the impression that he actually truly managed to raise « just because he got the questions through the magic key ». But this is just a bypass to escape the bullies (director and colleague), and it soon gets better. (I think the author is also confused)
Also, and most importantly, the focus is not there.
When it comes to the first girl, what matter is the trust he gave and received.
From the perspective of a child who gave up on herself, being able to learn within the scope of question she will get is a must. I’s a litterary test, he could never give her a straight answer she would copy. What he does is explain her and she works enough to understand . Luckily, she gets rewarded, and though that experience, starts to believe she can really do something and try a bit longer.
When it comes to the bet with his mean colleague, honestly, it’s just bad. It’s also rather harmless. He will never teach the kids and they have prepared so so much, that even with a cheat, they probably just deserve the grade they got. But it’s not smart writing.
And luckily, the cheat fades in a more appropriate background as it goes.
The math teacher story brings about a meaningful take on real education vs test result focused education, and this is where it truly becomes interesting
This is not a story about a cheat key, this is a criticism a a modern education system which breaks children through constant evaluation and discrimination.
Through several stories, including his own, the MC will explore this sytem and give a better answer - with the help of the key - averaging the odds for lost cases.
It’s not for nothing some northern europeaan country totaly gave up on grading kid, to let them enjoy learning for the sake of learning.
Because brain developement is different in pacing and places, lots of kids who simply don’t learn can get labeled as bad, and give up on learning, when the truth is they were simply taught when they were not ready. It’s also true for children who are not visual / auditive dominant in their learning abiliies.
Schools are very destructive to too many kids. Shouldn’t their true purpose should not be grading, but teaching, sharing knowledge and growing and appetite to learn ? This why the cheat key is not that important.
For a starter, it doesn’t give answers, but questions.
Obviously, even if he does have the question, the MC can only work harder and improve himself to teach efficiently. And the same goes for the kids. It continous effort that buid knowledge and method.
I believe the « cheat idea » is not certainly not the greatest, and i would think, even the author is embarrassed with it.
But so far, the MC is still the honest guy who deserved to be gifted that tool to better world, and give humane answer to a very toxic school system.
You’re welcome to curse at that bad idea, but i hope some will enjoy the better part of the story, as it’s truly nice to see somthing different , but also which manages to both shake a very tree, without getting dark and pessimistic. It was also very enlightening , coming from a different culture.
Am i the only one disgusted ad this very vile portrait of women being terrible toward women ? How did we get a culture in which women can kill another, threaten and harm another’s child and mistreat step daughter and more of the same gender ?
This type of evil only benefits a male centric world with their evil and toxic system ( a father give a daughter to a husband, she’s the property of her husband family, she’s expected to breed kids, kid’s value depends on their gender and order of birth (!) Women only have value and freedom (?) when that elderly son rules…)
How long are we going to be sucked in these absurd representations :/
I have only read 25 c (and dropped), so, maybe later the mage is described as another manipulative pervert, but in what i saw he just felt a disabled person.
Doesn’t it seems like he has some mental deficiency ? or at least being « atypical «? He described or seen as having a lack of emotion, lack of self control, displaying very childish or autistic behaviors, and having very inappropriate responses to his surroundings, etc,
It also never felt like he was playing around, but more like he was both naive and sincere all the way. That seems like mental impairment to me ?
I could also think that he has some physical disability because he is prone to dangerous accidents (magic explosion)
That’s probably what makes me really feel bad about this story : the way the story is told is all about her being a victim, but i don’t understand, how it’s also brings so much hate upon him, for being something he never chose to be.
It’s all right poor her. I won’t deny. I do think of a few children one can really pity for having a sibling so sick, that they too, will never have a normal childhood. It’s hard and terribly unfair. But who would ever think of blaming the sick that situation ?
I don’t know if you have people with a disabled kid in your surroundings, but shifting responsibility to other kis is going to happen whether the adults push or not.
Brothers, sisters and friends, classmates are going to learn to live with it too, because another child with special needs is going to take a lot of efforts to manage or to take care of. They will change and adapt too.
It might seem unfair to carry such responsibility, but maybe this is also about how humans care about each others. Any of us could also one day, end up with such disability. So shouldn’t we write or talk about this type of subject with a more benevolent heart ?
It’s unfair and overwhelming if just one person is in charge, this is so true. But the answer certainly doesn’t lie in blaming the sick? Isn’t compassion is a better option, so that in never has to becomes just one person burden?
I am sorry, i know a lot of children and young adults with disabilities, from minor to truly catastrophic. I am truly schoked by the way the author is playing with her characters.
Peace everyone
Ok, the girl got some spunk, the guy is awkward cute and a good green flag, the are both so obtuse to their feelings, it can be sweet and fun for a while as it is
But why does he have yo be the duke of the north, brother of the emperor
And her, the missing daughter of the duke teacher mentor of the emperor (obviously)
Man seriously ?
Not even talking of her archetypal evil « abusive « family, there was plenty enough to make a fun story with all these heavy titles
Don’t you grow tired of the same setup ?
Having worked professionally in the comics and the press industry, i am quite sensitive to plagiarism : but aren’t these comments lacking verification ?
Many mangas and webtoon are the efforts of a team.
There is more than one Japanese author who will gladly admit that they are doing the paneling and the story, but some assistants are better than them when it comes to to the art or design of their characters (GTO author is one of them, there’s no shame in that)
Paneling is a very complex task, as well as writing a story. An assistant job can be way bigger than one might thing.
Not all assistant will stay as assistant for life, for many, it’s a school to learn and grow, before becoming independent with your own title. When it happens, mentors are often helping their mentees, sometimes, even playing assistants for them.
Mangas being released in the press have an incredible deadline pressure.
I accompanied three mangaka ladies in a signing tour. All were recognized authors, and they were obviously long time friends, who they shared their strengths to keep their deadline. At the exhibition hall site, they would have their respective title pages going from one hand to the other, between signatures. Inking, shading, black parts, their three works were going back and forth for the greater good. As soon as they came back to the hotel, they were up to work : a team of giggling middle aged ladies in their frilly pyjama, with a glass of milk, the express envelopes ready to leave in the morning. They were incredible ! I never met more busy people !
This might seem very strange, but some team (like clamp ?) chose to put a common name forward as the creative process is vastly shared.
Basically we can’t know what happens in a studio ?
Now drawing with a style looking like another artist can be the product of working side by side for years: it’s hard to change the style you developed, and it’s not like you should stop working because your friend or mentor died ? Changing can only be a process, but on still need to eat ?
It’s might also be hard to know if the so call style is the produce of one, or the result of sharing passion and insight as a team, bringing betterment to all ?
Drawing like someone, can also be considered an homage, in some cultures. Obviously not in ours, but even so, some artists are mandated to work like their predecessors (Asterix, the smurfs or Lucky Luke european comics survived their creator for example, and without sticking to emblematic characters, some publications were choosing artists with the same visual vibe for their magazine)
Lastly having met some disputes between authors about their artwork, they were definitely less about the art style (rare to truly imitate), than entire paneling sections (camera angles, succession of framing, etc)
In this case, webtoon are problematic : paneling has lost immensely and is very poor, so gimmicks and look alike sequences are more systematic
I am not saying there’s no issue here, but there really might be none. And if there’s none, it could be very harmful to the author of this title.
But even if there is, it’s obviously much more complicated than we might ever be able to comprehend.
The assistant of a deceased author probably suffered way more loss and grief than the readers we are. If you imagine the author was a decent human being, they not only spent lots of time together, but also shared creative process and endured deadlines with lots of tension, as a team. There’s no way people who shared such strong moments would not build strong bonds together. It must have been devastating.
My knowledge come from Japanese Artists, but I believe the workflow might not be too different.
Peace

Spoilers and ranting …

…..
……
the MC had a lovely family, but get murdered, and she end up abused in too many ways
The ML… is the same ? Kid sent to war
The brother, just got his mom murdered, got abused, end up in a war at the glorious age of 10 ! (Btw, that make the MC a 7 yo ?! Come on people, writer should spend more time with real kids, if they want to write about them)
The princess… bear with me people : I can’t stand her, but i won’t curse her either
She got a full life of abuse - literally from birth to death and dies without ever being loved or cared for - by any one, barely being used at the end. That’s about 16 to 20 years of brutal abuse ?
Basically that’s more that any of the other characters ever endured : and while it’s the only character whose abuse are set as « background » , she’s in fact, the only one who shows real sequels and trauma for her pain…
When she’s then reborn as the « cherished princess » of the same evil dad (truly evil) : she can never trust that man’s « love », she has anything material, and the servants’ adoration… But she needs to act the part of the « perfect princess ». And in truth, there’s no real care and certainly no love again.
As a kid, she never could have opposed the crazy emperor who used her name to ruin one of the family that might oppose him. This is a fact.
That certainly does not apply to the petty trick she’ll employ against the MC later, when she turns evil from jealousy upon the MC who is cherished in both life.
There certainly was other way, and that’s my biggest deception there : i wished that character had some opportunity to grow.
What would have happened if someone had welcomed her with her jealousy ? What if she had an opportunity to tell how contradicted she felt ? What if she received a bit of empathy then, and found out what she truly needed ?
Wrong is wrong, but PTSD is real in her case.
Honestly, even with a real loving family she would have a hard time recovering (there are other titles on that concept, right ?)
She’s entirely wrong in the end : but it’s also another kind of pitiful - a real disaster where the victim end’s up becoming a persecutor.
I just want to read about the way out : there are enough victims in the world already. And healing ways do exist
I don’t know if you noticed, but we, reader can influence this.
There use to be plethora of rape-ish romance : this was disturbing enough that many raised concern, and now, these seems to be less and less ?
i wish readers would also raise awareness about the other use of child abuse
We don’t need a 10th of it to get trauma in real life,
and we certainly can have beautiful stories without baking a pie on children’s misery
Thank you for reading me
Peace and a lot of love ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
