My prediction: now I think that this is going to progress with them leading different lives and years passing by? Maybe… like maybe ilwoo got out of his situation, and becomes someone who can get BAEKHEE out of his situation in the future- MAYBE JUST MAYBE THAT MIGHT HAPPEN. That my prediction for the story ahah. Because how else would he help him or will they love each other in their current living status? I would like to see that too. But if the author wants the story to progress, they might make ilwoo strive to live since baekhee gave him a reason to want to live again.

I don't think that a major time skip will happen(2+yrs) but I think a 3 month or 6 month skip would be good storytelling. There too much that is about to happen for a large time skip to go on (Baek he's dad, il woo suicidal ideation, SCHOOL, Seoul, il woos old family) so I think Baek Hee is about to snap out of it in a few chaps and find Il woo or the time skips will happen and so on. I just hope the author doesn't leave all of these parts of the plot ambiguous to use a plot device instead of exploring what they have established alr thoughrougly...

Seeing as how the story narration speaks in past tense it’s safe to assume that this is either ilwoo, baekhee or both recounting what happened in their past. So there will most likely be a time skip at a certain point that closes the story up with them re-encountering one another post time skip. Ofc I can’t be sure but I’m pretty confident it’s gonna be smth like that
