Guys Nodeok posted on Twitter today that "Yang Ilwoo and I" will now be updated weekly. However cause of that decision the return date has been changed so the manhwa will no longer be coming back on August 15 as everyone was expecting.
It'll probably take a little longer though I don' know for sure since she didn't give a new release date.
I just hope no one comes here to complain when august arrives cause in the end we're the ones benefiting from this - we'll be getting one extra chapter every month and at the same time Nodeok will have to work even harder to keep up with the new schedule.
I honestly just hope she's gonna be ok
I'm crying my eyes out after listening to "Seasons" - Wave to Earth and automatically thinking about Ilwoo's situation with Baekhee. I've never wanted two characters to be happy this badly in my life before...it's not even funny
The chapter was wonderful.I love my babies and seeing them happy makes me happy too.And I’m not here to talk about the obvious impending doom (I’m just going to enjoy their peaceful moments for now), but there’s something I haven’t been able to get out of my head for a few months so far: why do I feel like they already knew each other before?
And I’ll bring up some points that make me think this:
1 – In chapter 4, Ilwoo mentions a place he went to in Gicheon when he was still a child that was narrow, damp, smelled like mold, dark, and full of broken things everywhere (something similar to what Baekhee’s house used to be like). It’s also worth remembering that Ilwoo can’t see well in the dark, so even if he lives in that same house now, it’s clearly a very vague memory to make that kind of association.
Which leads me to 2 – In chapter 17, Go Gyeshiton mentions that Baekhee threw out all the furniture from the house, showing that if Ilwoo had been there before, there would be no way for him to recognize it.
3 – In chapter 19, Ilwoo mentions in his dialogue that meeting Baekhee again was not a coincidence. Some of you said he was referring to the convenience store, but I’m not so sure about that. I think Nodeok left that statement intentionally vague, to keep the benefit of doubt—especially since it’s future Ilwoo speaking.
And 4 – Baekhee asks if he has ever traveled somewhere, and Ilwoo says no, and that he doesn’t remember much from when he was a child, once again leaving that possibility open. Can you guys tell me what you think? Because I can’t take thinking about this anymore and feeling like I’m just imagining things on my own lol.
Oh, and one more thing: why Baekhee doesn't recognize Ilwoo? Well, he dyed his hair, right? And when I say they met, it must have only been for brief moments—I don’t think they actually became friends.
I was washing the dishes and suddenly Those Eyes - New West started playing, and I always think of them when the chorus begins:
Cause' all of the small things that you do
Are what remind me why I fell for you
And when we’re apart and I’m missing you
I close my eyes and all I see is you
And the small things you do
I love them so much <3
I love how Baekhee unconsciously helps push away Ilwoo’s constant belief that his existence is worthless.People with su!c!dal tendencies stop seeing value in their own lives, and their minds make them believe they are disposable. So when Baekhee says that everything he did for him wasn’t a waste, that it wasn’t a favor expecting something in return, that he did it because he WANTED to—it makes Ilwoo feel validated.
That’s why right afterward he thinks he can’t hate Jang Baekhee. How could you hate the only person who sees value in you? I love them so much, and it makes me very happy how much they care for each other as well
Guys don’t upload over KangByeol for god's sake. They already said they aren't translating as quickly as before cause of personal issues but the chapter will eventually be here.KangByeol does the best english translation of Yang Ilwoo and I so far (even better than the officials) and i believe that’s because they’re also a fan of the story just like all of us
Remember that they do all of this for free so please don’t try to take their place just cause it’s taking longer. If they eventually stop translating everyone will end up losing in the end.Be patient
This chapter left me with a few questions… What does he mean by “meeting him again”? Have they already met before, but in this past they still don’t remember it? And since we’re in Il Woo’s POV, does that mean he’s also narrating from the future, which would mean he’s alive—but apparently something very bad happened, not to him, but to Baekhee? Is that it? One more thing: if Il Woo was planning to kill someone and then kill himself, why would he go through the trouble of going to school and getting his diploma? That really didn’t make sense to me
Chapter 17 and listing all the questions we have so far:
- What is in Il Woo’s backpack? ✓
- Why does Il Woo scratch his left shoulder? (a burn?)
-Why does Baekhee wear thigh compression bands? (this is probably because of the multiple burns he suffered from his father with that piece of iron)
- What is the cause of the scar Baekhee has on his left eyebrow? (his father again, with a bottle?)
- Il Woo's past
- What is Il Woo's job, and who does he want to kill?
- Who did Baekhee’s father kill?
- What happened to Il Woo in the present?
In two years we found out :´)
I've been reading this manhwa for a while now (2 months), and my head gets full of theories every time a new update comes out, so here’s one of them: the person Baekhee’s father killed was Il Woo’s father. The dates of when he was arrested and when Il Woo’s father died are very close. Il Woo said his father died in an “accident,” but clearly that was just an excuse to avoid telling the truth (or the case was officially labeled as an accident even though it was actually a homicide).
In other words, the reason he returned to Gigeon (he’s been in that city before—he even says he doesn't remember if he arrived by car or on foot back then, so I assume he was with his father) is revenge, since his life began to fall apart after he became an orphan. Therefore, the person Il Woo wants to kill is
