I’m not sure why so many authors don’t pace out the climax of a series. Obvi, we were all waiting for that monster to get got, and it kinda happens maybe in a few frames of a gun and getting stabbed in the neck? Like, after all of MC’s pain and suffering, literally watching him get raped for multiple chapters, 3 images is all we get and boom we’re in the hospital and it all over?

Happened in Pearl Boy too. We get basically endless torture of the MC, and then a few quick panels and it’s happily ever after. After so much build up, tension, and straight up stress, it feels like somewhat a let down. I’m not saying I want to see chapters of the bad guy getting tortured, but it just seems like a rushed, mostly “off screen” mess.

I can’t be the only one thinking it, right?

My prediction is that psycho brother will try to murder MC, possibly causing serious harm. MC being in real danger will make ML not only realize MC wasn’t lying about his brother but also that he (ML) has feelings for MC and will go into protective mode and use his manipulation super power against psycho bro.

The pacing of this just seems a bit off. The concept has potential but it’s rushing the drama and conflict rather than building tension.

This is not how I expected the season finale to go! I kind of wish we saw JK looking more sad than angry, but I suppose the last line feels good. I guess the only emotion he knows how to show is anger, hopefully that starts to change in season 2. He at least has some time to think now that he’s taking a break to heal.
