Well this is not really a spoiler but I saw that my boy Riftan was getting a lot of hate so... In the novel there are 44 continuos chapters from his POV. They are more like a side story to be fair. It's about his life before he got married to Maxi. The way he speaks and his behaviour so far will make much more sense after knowing his side of the story. Like he is a reaaaaaaaly complex character. He's just lovely overall <3 Truly the best!
I don't hate Riftan tbh and I mean we were already told he was short tempered and As a short tempered person i totally get his side lol (Since you said this i should go check out this manhwa's novel so I can check out his side of story).
For stories like this one i think it would be better if it was not separated in such small chapters. And have so many of them over such a long period of time. Cause the story is great but I just think people have no patience. They just want flowers and sparkles. And bring them quick. This is a very realistic pacing with an extremely realistic flow of the story.
I mean sure the story so far is 1 year long. But it's not that long if you're actually thinking about it. Girly was asaulted by her own father for like 20 something years. She has been abused physicaly and mentaly for so long it would be wierd if she suddenly changed. And he was on different battlefields for like 16 years straight. And his life wasn't really sweet peaches before that either.
Also so many people just complain that they don't comunicate. HOW??? With skills picked from WHERE??? Ffs in real life in order to have good communication skills you need practice and to learn them from SOMEWHERE or SOMEONE. Like theraphy, which they don't have.
In terms of character development, there is a lot of it for both of them. And still a lot more to come. But yeah... The pacing is slow. Cause it's a very well written story. And a lot of shit happens.
And if some of you guys taught the story was frustrating so far... Well i'm sorry, but you won't like what's about to come.
