I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like the story gets worse with each chapter. The characters act like idiots—for example, why would you go ask the emperor (your enemy) what he said to your wife? Can you believe his answer? To top it all off, he tells him what he already knows instead of keeping it to himself and acting behind the scenes.
It started off interesting, but at this point I'd say I'd give it a 6 out of 10 at best
Story (Mediocre): The pacing is contradictory; it feels both rushed and unnecessarily dragged out (specifically in the last 20 episodes or so.). It introduces undeveloped subplots and leaves loose ends, when it could have easily ended 15 chapters earlier to focus on family life instead. Additionally, key events are mentioned in dialogues as if they happened off-screen.
Characters:
-MC (Protagonist): Irritating, a pushover, and lacks character growth. She wallows in her misery without taking action and forgives almost everyone. She brushes off her past breakup as a "miscommunication," ignoring the fact that her husband was actually terrible.
-ML (Male Lead): An arrogant, manipulative noble who borders on psychopathic. He gaslights her, looks down on her, and purposefully ignores her while she is being mistreated. Although his redemption is satisfying, his 180-degree personality shift feels inconsistent with his previous characterization.
-2ML (Second Male Lead): A bit manipulative but deep down a good person. He saved the MC's life and was the catalyst for the ML's change, yet he ends up alone.
-ML’s Mother: Her contempt for the MC and opposition to the marriage had some initial logic, but she crosses the line by causing the MC's miscarriage and poisoning her. She is the only one who faces consequences (lifelong confinement).
Verdict: I recommend it if you like angst-filled stories with happy endings and don't have anything better to read.
