I’m on a reread because I missed this story. I remember seeing comments about how tragic the novel was as this was in the beginning of its updates, I stayed to see if would be tragic, and then I still stayed to see if there would be redemption for Caesar at the end. I was then shot 57 times :,)

It’s always about her “being a noblewoman” and making assumptions about her because they didn’t see how her father abused her. They all think she was treated like royalty because of her sister, but the poor thing struggled SO MUCH and in turn it’s making things so much more difficult for her in her own damn marriage UGH

I commend the series for not dragging out misunderstandings for chapter upon chapter like other series, they actually TALK to each other after actually thinking it over. Yes, they struggle with it, but they’re TEENAGERS still learning and growing. Ifgaf what anybody says, I wish shoujo had this level of story telling when I was a high schooler, I needed it.

One thing I forgot was how annoyed I got at the OG translator’s notes about “over sensitive readers” and how sarcastic they were sometimes. It really took away from the story itself for me, and seeing multiple chapters headed with “Oh look another r@pe free chapter” really started pissing me off. The notes are hard to ignore sometimes since they got mixed with the MC’s thoughts sometimes, so I’m pretty sure I dropped it because of that, I just got tired of it

He’s never been told otherwise, by Maxi or her father, so until someone does he’s just gonna think of her as sheltered and soft. Even though she’s getting better at speaking her mind, she NEEDS to tell him that her home life growing up was nothing like he assumes. They’re just going to go around in circles until they actually COMMUNICATE (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻
