What does shoneun AI & josei & shoujo mean I’ve looked up some of the terms but I’m still genuinely confused lol when I first joined this website I was like wtf I literally got into comic reading like early this year I think
Shounen ai (which translates to boys' love) is basically a genre for gay romance.
Josei is a genre of manga that's marketed for adult/18+ female audience (since it typically depicts sexual/mature contents)
Shoujo is a genre for heterosexual romance that's marketed for teenage/younger girls.

Shounen-Ai is the "tamer" description of Yaoi, so it's just Boys Love but it does not go further than a kiss in the story
Shoujo & Josei are a demographic
Shoujo = manga aimed at girls
Josei = manga aimed at adult woman
We usually just use Shoujo/Josei as a term for hetero stuff on this site tho
I think shounen ai is mxm but without any seggs while shojou is manga/manhwa/etc is content targeted for girls/young women
Btw, shoujo is more like a genre that focuses more on romantic relationships (hence why most of shoujo have (straight) romance in them),friendships and personal growth thats aimed for younger women. The same thing could be said for shounen ai, the romance is just between a gay couple and it's for everyone. I think this is a more accurate explanation. Haha
