but also i'm in favor of youth liberation so maybe i'm too woke for this lol. like they don't really hear her out during conflicts. and it absolutely should not have been tolerated that he called her ugly. why does she have to be called ugly but she gets Her treats threatened for not wanting to talk to him??? like the first thing he said to her was i don't talk to uglies??? not cool to teach kids to put up w that. and then no one heard her side of the story for her teasing. like that little boy makes demands and can't handle any pushback. maybe fucking tell him to stop being a dick if he doesn't want people to tease him!? notice how none of the other boys have that problem??
i do agree it's weird her romance starts as a kid, but she's an adult in there. if they had a reason to explain her childish behavior like maybe she can only access her previous memories during certain times or smth, it would be a lot less weird
Wahahaha i simply didn't expect that i'm only on chap 3! will continue reading
right??? doing it in public knowing full well that they're well known and regardless of what she does it's going to become a huge spectacle. actually thinking about it this whole story is garbage. men don't consider the realities that women have to go through. istg i should have known this would be garbage when he said "you don't center men in this thing made for women" and icb she even entertained that. and just took whatever bs he said at face value. ughhh
i remember feeling too woke for this at certain points but liking the art a lot so here's to hoping it's good
tldr: i forgor if there's offensive material. i'm gonna do research n update when i can if i think it is (or isn't!) offensive :D
i was saying that fully based off memory, maybe i got it confused with that other popular garbage ancient egypt comic? i also haven't caught up to where i left off either. i think i stopped reading shortly after they dealt with the corpse army or something?? and got back home maybe????
i haven't noticed anything egregiously bad yet! (but tbh i also don't know a lot abt what's offensive in terms of egyptian culture and history) i am always scared when brown people are depicted in romance media bc there's a lot of tropes based in racism. so far it doesn't seem like this story is falling into that, but maybe my love for his beautiful appearance is clouding my judgment
i will say, it does give white savior vibes. i'm looking out for how they handle that. i'm also looking out for how they're representing ancient medicine and knowledge, but for me to accurately say whether or not things are racist or offensive, i would have to do research into the topic. which i think i'm going to try to do!
i'll lyk if i was just misremembering or not when i catch up!
"it seems that guy was right and you almost died because of my haywire mana, so for the time being i won't be able to speak with you until i figure out how to work around this."
the duke not knowing how to handle his emotions is so fucking annoying. every single time it's him just ghosting or blurting out hurtful nonsense. i swear the only reason she continues to put up with you is because you were lucky to be the first person who didn't treat her like garbage (exaggeration but still) he pmo!!!!!

why does he hate her again? and i only vaguely remember him seeing his dad again. or whoever that was... omg and i do not have it in me to reread love is an illusion to remember ts
She abandoned him to be with her new family, she left because the dad was super abusive to her even beat her and left him with the abusive dad. At some point during his childhood he went looking for her mum and asked if he could stay with her, telling her how abusive the dad was and the mum told him she had a new family and there was no room for him. I totally understand how seeing her again brings up pass trauma and he still doesn’t understand why she abandoned him. She’s not a good person, neither was the dad! I don’t understand why byul and byul’s dad still keep in contract with her!
