I thought he was affected by the poison but it turns out he was just pretending since he can still use his powers (lighting the candle on and off). I guess he’s grown too strong to be affected by it
I KNEW IT!! I MENTIONED THIS BEFORE DURING THE CHAPTER WHERE KARAS KILLED THE FIRST COUNCIL MEMBER IN THE MEALS.I figured that if he can already freely control fire, then he could just burn the meals in his mouth because the black poison becomes neutralized with fire
